How high of importance to you give to getting married?

Marriage is very important for me. it's a top goal of mine in life to get married

It was important but other things in life took more priority. but i do want to get married in my lifetime

It's not important to me. I don't need to get married, but if i meet the right person i wouldn't mind. but if not its not a big deal to me.

What marriage is supposed to represent is very beautiful and should be cherished and protected: an eternal bond between two people who will always love and respect each other, until the very end.


Have a relationship with that kind of bond is more important than having a marriage ceremony or marriage certificate.


A marriage devoid of that true intended depth of meaning and significance, is pointless in my opinion.


If two people don’t have the level of love, commitment, and bond that’s necessary to make their vows 100% true, then they shouldn’t get married.


Continue dating? Sure, if it can help them reach that point.


But to marry prematurely without a significant bond, without lasting love and respect, without commitment, without loyalty?


All that does is skyrocket the chances of marriages failing AND cheapens the significance of the status: Married


So, I value what marriage is supposed to be.


But, I don’t really value what ‘marriage’ has become.


What once was a significant statement is now lackluster as rates of disloyalty and divorce are extremely high.


I’ll still get married, don’t get me wrong. But I’m so much more about the BOND that the marriage is supposed to celebrate rather than the marriage ceremony or label itself.

I don't need to get married. A license is just a piece of paper and really says nothing about the commitment two people have other than to tell the general public.

I would be fine marrying again, but it would be an agreement between her and I, and my word is my bond. The way marriages get dissolved so easily these days, I think someone who actually remains faithful, honest and totally committed is way more important than the piece of paper it's written on. It's something I do not take lightly.

So low it's no longer on my radar. And no, I'm just not saying that because I'm eternally single: even as a kid, I've had no interest in a big "fairy tale" wedding or getting married. Seemed unnecessary and a waste of money to me-
Those feelings only escalated as I got older and realized most marriages end up in divorced!

Yeah sorry, but I don't see the point in getting married- to get a piece of paper, take a man's last name, and say we love each other... something that may or may not last? No...

I rather just find a decent guy to commit to and have a long term relationship without the stress and overpriced ceremony thanks.

In the meantime, I'll focus on other things: like my job, health, friends, and hobbies.

Honestly it's not a priority for me. Sure the mental image of a white wedding is beautiful but it's not necessary. I think I could live happily even if just in a stable relationship even without marriage. What matters is to be in it for love that you share for each other. And if ever I do get married I don't want a big showcase ceremony.

Marriage ain't that important, buuut my husband asked my hand for marriage by an agreement we've agreed to. Which is still a strong agreement so that's why we're married and I can say so now a days. :)

It was very important for me to eventually get married, but since I was young and the process towards it seemed to be going well it was not something that I put on high priority. If I had been older then I would have made it a higher priority though.
