If a person no longer loves their spouse and they don't have any kids what should they do in your opinion if they came to you for advice?

They are in a marriage long term but somewhere along the way they completely fell out of love with their spouse. What would you recommend they do if they came to you with advice.

This question is assuming they didn't have any kids. i may make another similar question with kids later.

Try to work things out as much as possible. Try to fall back in love with them but if all else fails go ahead and get the divorce

Get a divorce. don't try to work things out because trying to stay or work it out with someone you don't love will not go very well

Stick it out because you made your vows. those vows should be sacred even if you no longer love your spouse.

I would refuse to give them advice because i wouldn't know what to do in their situation

I would say they both should enter into couples therapy and try to figure things out before just settling for a divorce. I’ve heard a lot that in long term relationships- couples tend to fall out of love but the strong ones come together and fix things

"love"?

Well, I'm inferring what your true meaning is but I'm taking it that you are referring to love as a feeling. One must always feel "in love". That way you feel when you are just meeting a person and you have butterflies and can't stop thinking about them. If that feeling ever fades, let's say 10 years later then it is time to divorce and slit the kids and parents up, alimony, child support, division of assets, someone gets to keep the house, someone is kicked out... etc.

Love is an action and it is a choice. You choose to love them everyday. You choose to do good things for them, praise them, say appreciative things, encourage them, do things that fall in their love language (the way the best feel loved), you perform kind deeds to them. You do these things whether you feel like them or not. People don't feel like it everyday.

If you are with someone 10, 20, 30 years... some times you aren't going to "feel" it everyday.

There is no reason to marry unless you have religious beliefs or kids, in which case you should work it out. Other shouldn't have gotten married, if it wasn't for the legal mess sound like you would have been gone already. Now you have to decide if its worse to try and make it work or deal with a divorce.

Figure out why they no longer love their spouse, then probably advise them the part ways if trying to sort things out doesn't workout. No one should be forced to be in a marriage their not happy in.

I would ask them why they married them in the first place and what has changed since then, and if they think that's something they can work past. If not, then they should go their separate ways.
