In my opinion, while it's typically the case that a guy's value is low in his 20s, that has very little to do with when he should get married. The important implication of a guy having low value in his 20s is that he should work LIKE A MOFO to increase his value. Also, he should recognize that his opportunity cost for doing work is VERY low since he has no better options.
As to when he should get married, I'd say that has MUCH more to do with when he meets a girl worth marrying and when he feels ready to settle down than what his value is at any point in time. Now it IS true that the higher his value the more likely he'll be to find and attract a girl worth marrying, but that can be pretty random as well. So you should really separate those decisions out.

+1 yYou should get married and try to stay married as early as possible.
You are not guaranteed to be in good health all of your life.
You are not guaranteed to even live into your thirties. All sorts of people die of heart attacks and other instant-death events in abnormally young scenarios.
01 Reply- +1 y
Well... Those who rush marriage are prone to death by suicide, so... I don't think it's smart to do this.
+1 yTo be honest, I don't understand the question.
Is the value of women and men different in their 20s? If yes, why? If yes, does it mean marriages between people in their twenties are worthless because people are at their lowest value at that age?
The idea of adding the label of worth/value to the person makes me sick.
Marriage is not about worth/value but about emotions and commitment. I'm sure I was at my lowest value when I married. But I put a lot of effort into my success and our relationship.140 Reply- +1 y
@islathewitch Good question and TY for admitting you don't understand.
1. Yes the value of men and women in their 20's is vastly different. Women from 18-24 have their highest SMV as that is when men find them most attractive, meaning they can leverage that for opportunities. Men from 35-50 make the most net income meaning they are they have the resources to make them attractive to women.
2. The fact that it "makes you sick" is irrelevant.
3. What age were you married, w/out providing that info you can't accurately make that statement. - +1 y
I was 23 years old when I married. My husband is 5 years older. I was broken emotionally and financially with two small kids.
To be honest, now, more men are hitting on me, than when I was in my 20s. So I still don't get this value thing. - +1 y
@islathewitch Where are those men now?
- +1 y
Around. Why?
- +1 y
@islathewitch So you are in a committed relationship w/ all of them?
- +1 y
Do I have to be in a relationship to know that a guy is hitting on me?
- +1 y
@islathewitch The fact that you're not highlights the value or lack off of they type of men that are hitting on you. If they are hitting on you imagine how much they hit on young attractive women.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner I'm in a long-term relationship, and I won't leave it only because other men find me attractive. Honestly, none of my male acquaintances is interested in young women. They are more interested in partners who can share similar life experiences and knowledge than youth looks.
- +1 y
@islathewitch OH we're using antedoctal evidence I'm in a relationships w 3 1/2 women currently and every male friend I have bangs women under 30. So by your logic every man in society wants that.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner Bang doesn't mean looking for a relationship. And it's a hell of a difference
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner You don’t learn, do you.
- +1 y
@islathewitch Perhaps but I'm still currently I'm 3x as many relationships as you so by your own logic I know 3x more than you correct?

@islathewitch TY for sharing, however I'm not sure what that has to do w/ me. I said I was currently in 3 1/2 relationships you said you were in 1 are you sure you tagged the correct person, or did you miss that part?
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner I was in two serious relationships and some dating. What does it change?

@islathewitch You originally said you don't "understand the question" mayne it's because you're not in pr relationship or in as many as me

@Vegasrunner where did I write such a thing?
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner If you can’t control someone’s emotions then why do insist on running you mouth?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust Excellent question and I'm not surprised you don't know, considering your limited experience w/ women. A half relationship I when the women wants to be in a relationship w/ me, however I have made it clear that she can stay around for sex only.
- +1 y
That’s a hookup. That’s not a relationship. I think you’ve been in exactly zero relationships. But you rarely share personal stories. It’s mostly hypotheticals.
- +1 y
@IslaTheWitch In the very first sentence if your response.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust Incorre t that is a half relationship. A hook up is when you bang a chick your never going to see again. I realize you have limited exprience w/ women so I'm glad I can educate you.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner Whatever words help you sleep, how many times are you going to fail before doing something right?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust I'm not much of a sleeper. Sleep is the cousin off depth. I'm not sure what you believe I failed at but all I can say is don't be afraid of failure, Michael Jordan admits to failing 100's of times and he's one of the greatest athletes that's ever lived. All great men have overcome adversity, this may be more difficult for someone average like yourself to understand.
- +1 y
I never watched a single game of his. I found the boys who lacked meaning in their lives praised his accomplishments as if they were theirs. He still failed with his wife. Someone with that much “success” has no wisdom to offer me if he still failed with all that at his disposal.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner My question was, where did I write that I don't understand the question because I'm not in a relationship, but I see it was your ASSUMPTION.
In European culture, we don't have this idea of worth. We assess our partners by watching their potential, emotional intelligence, and compatibility, not their age or income. So it's not related to the number of relationships which we rather keep in moderation but to being mature and seeing things as they are. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust That's nice to share but not sure it's relevant considering he's worth billions and has been named by numerous puplication as one of the most viewed people in the history of the world, the fact that you didn't watch only proves that there is always someone jealous of success. I think you mean to say his wife failed w/ him as it's her job to keep him. Jordan traded in his 1st wife for a woman 20 years younger which is another example of what successful men do. It's ironic you're talking about failure because if you were trying to make a point w/ that response you failed miserably. Do better.
- +1 y
@vegasrunne It proves I was busy playing it and living life instead of sitting around talking about it. I don’t particularly enjoy watching sports because I lived it.
“Traded in his wife.” My uncle traded in 3 so far that were hotter than Jordan’s wives on a teacher’s salary. Nice guy, smart too. But he’s a failure with women to me. - +1 y
@islaTheWitch I see your confusion now. There could be plenty of other reasons you don't understand the question, I'm saying that one of the reasons could be because you're not in as many as me.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust That's awesome so did in both college and professionally outside of America. What level did you play? I in fact I still work in basketball today. I can't speak to your uncles failures because I don't know anything about him, but thanks for sharing.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner. I’m not your ally. Acting nice doesn’t mean people will like you. You’re judged by ALL your actions.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust Lol, why would I need a virgin as an ally?
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner. Then don’t try to buddy up with me. I’m glad you work in a professional sport. I happily defund your useless profession by not watching a single game AND actively tell people it’s a waste of time to watch others play an intramural activity. Mocking the people in that business is more entertaining than watching the business itself.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust That's odd, but as I mentioned I don't have control over what someone else thinks. It'd unfortunate that u didn't have success in the game but If it was so "useless" why did you try to play? If you're spending your time mocking Alpha millionaires that have their pick of women, then the joke is clearly on you.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner If you don’t control what other people think, why do you insist on calling people emotional every time they disagree with you?
Define success. I learned good habits. But I chose to be of far more value to society getting an education. I don’t have to worry about hitting the athlete’s “wall” being washed up by 30. I don’t have to worry about walking around my house with my pants hanging around my ankles drooling and slurring my words in my 40s on up because my brain is permanently contused.
It’s like I said about my asshole uncle. Who has more talent with women? A guy who can make them feel good with nothing but his word and his balls or some dude that requires all the resources in the world, none of which he knows how to actually acquire, just to get some tail? - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust I can't speak to the 1st question because it is factually inaccurate. No you only have to worry about competing w/ the other 80% of ordinary men in the world for the 10% of women who want ordinary men. The man capable of sleeping w/ more women has more talent then them. That's why I have more talent than you.
Men in their 20s are hot and fun. I only date guys my age and younger than me. I'm 28 and my boyfriend is 21, he wants to marry me and have kids. I think it's the right age. He already has a good job, he is building his own house, he bought his own car, it depends on the guy but some are already quite succesful at that age. Same goes for my friends.
My dad had me at 23 and it was so much fun growing up with him, I want my kids to experience the same thing.

If the woman of your dreams wants to marry you now, then you should get married now (assuming she knows her value, and she knows for sure you're her man of her dreams)

@Bethany22 If you're a grown man believing in that women of your dreams nonsense you definitely aren't mature enough to get married.

quite funny how you're saying someone is not mature enough to get married when the only girls you go for are 18 yr olds. - +1 y
@nastyb Not sure why u believe that, perhaps you tagged the wrong person. My preference is women 28-33 as they are typically the best to have sex w/. Also that is right around the age when they start giving up the delusion about fairytale relationships. I do agree that on average men prefer women 18-24 but i wouldn't have much use for a 18yro

- +1 y
@Vegasrunner
and what makes you think a 28-33 yr old would pick an aging, unattractive old man at your age instead of someone who is still young and handsome? - +1 y
@nastyb That's an interesting question. For starters you're making the fallacy that women "pick" Men of my status are typically the ones that pick. If you're speaking of me personally, I currently have countless women in that age range, on my roster, so evidence and reality tells me that. I can't speak to the unattractive old man statement as I don't know any, perhaps a better question is why you do. You're question does validate my point that women don't understand relationships, as "unattractiveness" isn't as important as it is for men which is why it's harder for a woman in her 30's to retain a man in his 20's. Also men in their 20's don't have any resources which is why it's tougher for them to get women. It's also tougher for women to go backwards in relationships, a woman isn't going to trade in flying private, sleeping in 6 bedroom home, and riding in fast cars for a guy still living in his mom's basement. Hope this helps.

- +1 y
@normalice Well don't feel bad. Think of some tangible evidence to support your position vs a quick emotional response.
- +1 y
@normalice That's even worse, but it shows you care which is a natural response for someone emotionally tied to a belief.
Sorry, but I don't agree. Twenties are the best for looks, regardless of gender. And I would never date a guy more than four years older than me. So whenever he meets someone who loves him, who he loves, is the right time to get married.
The time of 'value' is very subjective for everyone.
13 Reply- +1 y
@AmyHew1tt That for women, men are not valued for their looks by society, an attractive broke man has far less options than a rich ugly man.
I think girls compel you to be at least 30 and guys are unlikely to have much choice in the matter.
In fact this was institutionalized going back a couple of hundred years when up market guys would spend time in the army. To marry they had to seek permission from their colonel as well as her parents.
Nowadays though, by the time they are 30, guys should be seriously questioning the wisdom of it.

I don't care what women say they want, i only care what they respond to. Women tend to contradict their words with their actions. What you say<actions. Its easy to say that and other women wouldn't date older men but once presented with something involving money or financial stability, the instincts kick in. And lets not forget a lot of women in their 20's want to party, take a ride on the cock courasel and then once they're 30 want to find a man to settle down with. But the options are limited because you're no longer as attractive as you were when you were 20 or 25. Your 30 and the biological clock is ticking. Those ovaries have an expiration date and the desperation kicks in and a lot of those older men dont want you. Men dont have to play on your time. @Chthou95 When you look at the whole picture you will see young women are generally with people a couple years older than them. This happens literally everywhere and is the majority. Sometimes in Hollywood young women end up with old men for money but that is such a small number! Get off the internet and into the real world. Most women don’t care that much about money, women work now too you know? An unattractive pervy 40+ year old with money will almost never beat an attractive 20 something year old with less money in all honestly and you can see it in the stats

From what I have seen over the years, large age gap relationships don't tend to last. Very few make it to marriage.
Then take a look at the divorce rates for large age gap relationships, they're significantly higher than divorce rates of similarly aged couples. - +1 y
@sunflower00 I wasn't aware i was living in a simulation. Thank you for waking me from sleep Morpheus. And generally speaking women do care. And that doesn't mean shit. You make your own money but once you enter a relationship, his money becomes your money. Men in general don't care about a woman's success because men and women are different. We're attracted to different things. A woman's money doesn't make a man's dick hard. And yet again most men 18-31 (63%) right now are single. Its older men who are in relationships. Older could mean 32+
- +1 y
@nastyb You would first have to understand what I'm saying and your responses indicate thar you don't. You telling me what you're attractive isn't relevant to this conversation ar all, and the fact that you're making general statements about subjects you know nothing about only proves that like all women you're making a reaction based out of emotion rather than reality. I personally have multiple women under 30, so I could easily use that as "proof" however I understand that my anecdotal evidence isn't relevant to reality. well i guess it depends on what age range you want to date as a dude. at least i think if you want girls in their early 20s (like me, i'm not 100+ obv) the best age to be is in your 20s too. like i'm not interested personally in guys in their 30s & 40s and beyond. the hottest guys to me by far (and the ones i date/want to date etc) are around 20-24. though maybe girls in their late 20s can prefer older, dont think girls my age do. we're too young to care about money, jobs, and all that, at this point i think we all just care about looks & personality

@angelic Lol TY for validating my point. You're only one person ans statistically insignificant. Guys in their 20's may fall for this because they don't have enough options or experience to call a woman out on her BS. Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIf young men have any sense they concentrate totally on their careers during their 20's, and not consider marriage until their 30's when starting to come into their prime.
And if women who would not give then the time of day let alone date through their 20's suddenly start paying attention to them, and nothing about their circumstances have changed you can almost guarantee that those women are looking for a man to 'settle' with, there will be little love involved,

I see the same gorgeous 20 yo girls with the same dickhead boyfriends of a similar age. Or some of them I'm sure are decent guys. Most men in their 20s I'm sure don't have a hard time dating unless they're complete waste of spaces who go home and wank over porn every evening. If you're reasonably well adjusted you should do alright with a woman. Problem is, most men these days aren't.
And maybe I'm cynical but I struggle to believe they are any men where women are throwing themselves at unless it's the guy out of the 1975 or that fluffy pop band with those boyish gimps, One Direction I believe.
Women just get 10x as much attention as men.
- +1 y
@Levin Apology accepted. What you're sharing is called antedoctal evidence, which is fine as long as you're willing to take in mine. Actually approximately 33% of men under 30 report that they haven't had sex in a year and almost 3/4 of all men that belong to the incel community are under 30. I don't think you're cynical, your just an average guy so it makes sense that you don't have experience of women throwing themselves at you.
- +1 y
Women used to throw themselves at me when I was younger, ironically. But I turned them all down. In fact, I've turned most of them down in adulthood as well because who cares if the average girl throws themselves at you. Quality over quantity and all. If I'm anything at all it's not average. I didn't say what I was saying was anything other than anecdotal. And I'm not saying there isn't turbulence in the dating market for young men. There are problems, major problems. In fact, I agree with your figures. The reasons for this are complicated and multifaceted. I don't agree that men have the 'lowest value' in their 20s though. Who has the highest value? Is it a flabby 50 year old with lots of wealth and 'status', but not much else. The charms of youth extend to men, too, at least to some, lesser degree, than women. There's a subjective aspect to this. Lots of older men don't have high value either. You make blanket statements and that's why I take issue with them. You've been watching too many bullshit videos on youtube. The same kind of mentality as someone who is a Darwinist and rules their whole life around it. There's a wider world out there.
- +1 y
@Levin it's unfortunate that only average girls have thrown themselves at you however if you increase your value you may get better. If you recognize that there it's more difficult for younger men then logic would tell to ask yourself why. You don't have to agree w/ reality but it doesn't change reality. Men in their 20's posses less experience, money, resources and assets these are all things women seek in men, it's probably more accurate to say you don't like it vs you don't agree, because every metric including historical validates that statement. Also your characterization of the hypothetical 50 yro proves my point tons of fat men have been characterized as ladies men. Fat Joe, Big Pun, Biggie Small, DJ Khaled, etc, that is because looks is not a metric that male value is judged by. You instinctively know this which is why you have to create a fictitious argument vs discussing the original point.

You can find value inwardly or externally/socially. To me health and development of consciousness are important. Please don't tell me that I should envy some ugly fatty with diabetes, because they have some millions in the bank or superficial bitches want a piece of them. You can play different games in life. You will attract what you focus on. Those girls aren't valuable or attractive to me if they're pretty materialistic husks.

Perhaps 35. Then we select someone who has reached maturity and has completed whatever education she is getting. I'd say 24 plus. Best for children when that time comes and accumulation of wealth until then.
00 ReplyMen have their highest potential in their 20s. Maybe it's time younger women recognised high potential is better than a high body count and go back to marrying a good man before he becomes a washed up jerk
00 ReplyI personally don’t think age is the most important factor. I recommend guys and girls to get out there and have fun. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but I do not believe in God, so I say go experiment. Learn what your body likes but be safe about it. Once your wild streak is gone and you know for sure what you need out of a relationship then and only then start looking for a life partner.

@LazerBean Reality and historical evidence disagree. For the metrics that women are attracted to men don't usually reach them until late 30's at best. It's difficult to admit because women lose value as they age and society tries to brainwash average people like you that men and women are equal.
556 opinions shared on Marriage & Weddings topic. If they have 0 value in their teens and 20s, then why should they marry any of these gold diggers once they get older and have more value? Do not reward bad behavior.

@scentoflavender No I'm speaking about reality, you mentioned what shouldn't be, I'm discussing what is.

Agree to disagree. You solicited opinions. I gave mine.
+1 ylowest value on their 20? how is that so? not all women are gold diggers

@sheenagwapa All is not a pre-requisite for truth. All people don't vote yet we still have elected officials.
Wait? If you find a good woman you marry her but chances are you won't until you 28 or 29.
10 ReplyWell value as in money should have little to do with love.
But teens and youngsters are getting preggers and married before they should. I’d say just plan on college and marry afterward.
00 ReplyIt is an individual choice based on love, sex, family and in some countries tradition.

+1 yFortunately civilization has evolved to a point where marriage does not and should not be strictly transactional.
00 ReplyLowest value... what is this a slave auction?
10 ReplyIt’s not about your value it’s about who values you.

+1 yI don’t know about that but shouldn’t get married till your 30s anyway
00 Reply Higher in their late 20s than in their early 20s…I’d say 29 to 39 is the best time

+1 yWhy get married, you can have everything without marriage
00 Replylowest value in their teens.
post menopause women are on equal footing with 13-17 boys
00 ReplyIf you do the hard work during your 20's, you'll typically be succeeding in your 30's
00 ReplyI don't think there has to be a specific age, either men or women,

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yNever unless it's right for your personality type. The average guy should wait til he's about 45.

Opinion Owner+1 yAdd 15 years to when the girl you're marrying wants to get married. As a male you have to provide everything for yourself and everything for the entitled female. Everyone's seen this first hand a million times in their personal life. So you better be in a position of strong leverage.
That's a individual decision.

@love_conquers_lust Men that look for the one are typically the ones that struggle getting women.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner Men who fear the true judgement of a woman will never ascend.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust Any man that is needs judgement from the most emotional creatures on the planet isn't a man like to have had success w/ women. Think about it, you've never actually been w/ a woman but are giving advice to men about them.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner. Any man who thinks he is above judgement is a fool.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust So you need judgment from me ok, well how many women have you slept w/ in your life?
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner None, judge me. Between the two of us, which of us has had more success with women? How many failures is it going to take for you to get it right? You are not what my D-back coach who played for the Steelers would call a one-time guy. I got a feeling you’ll be running from them for the rest of your life.
Any man who thinks emotions are a sign of weakness is in fact weak himself. For it is those who feel things the deepest that have the greatest barriers to overcome, that is true courage. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust You've never had sex w/ a woman but are providing advice about women why? Obviously I've had more success you haven't had any. Failure is a part if success do you don't need to be afraid of it. It makes sense that u played D-back and are a virgin as those are usually the shortest players on the team and its probably tough fir an average short guy to get laid.
- +1 y
@Vegasrunner. You tie your self worth to women. What would you be without them? Yet your whole mantra is based on insulting and not caring about their opinion.
Failing is succeeding to you? Succeeding is succeeding, failing is part of learning. Something you have yet to do with a woman. If you were doing anything right, they’d want to stick around. But you’re afraid of their judgment.
Are you really going to start insulting D-backs? The fastest guys on the field who were in the best shape had a tough time getting laid? You think +6’ safeties have a hard time pulling tail?
Are you a glutton for punishment? How many times are you going to keep trying to cross me and made to look the fool? - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust it's unfortunate u feel I've insulted women however sharing the truth is not an insult. No one succeeds w/out failure the fact that you don't understand thar explains why you're still a virgin. Who said they don't want to stick around? That's an odd assumption. I'm a basketball guy, so most football guys are lucky if they can get our leftovers, but defensive backs are way down on the Peking order even amongst football players. Lol, if listening to a virgin attempt provide advice on women constitutes punishment sign me up for more.
- +1 y
And witnessed. Hence the feel. One time guys get it right the first time.
I like how your whole pitch is “I’m a failure”. Let that sink in. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust You're only a failure if you quit right now, however there still may be time for you to raise your value.
- +1 y
You could immediately raise yours by shutting up.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust Iys unfortunate that these words hurt your feelings, however hopefully you are able to apply some of these strategies to finally getting a woman. Gl
+1 yNot before 28

@awantika03 That still seems a bit early as less the.5% of 20 yro men have enough monet to support a family.

Only money is not sufficient, maturity also needed

that is a big gap unless you plan to wait 7 years?
- +1 y
@awantika03 A man certainly doesn't reach maturity at 28.
