I will stand by this quote forever: “it’s better to wait long than to marry wrong.” No one is perfect, but no one should settle just because they’re desperate, lonely, or just tired of being single.
Plus, there’s nothing wrong with remaining single and/or not having sex for life. You even said it yourself: “I understand it’s their choice.” That’s should be the end of it: it’s their choice. Not everyone is wrapped up in being in a relationship and/or having sex. Leave people alone, for goodness sake’s.
You can marry and have sex at any age. I know an old guy that married at 72. Having kids though is an entirely different story.

I’ll just summarize a lot of great answers here.
- You can choose either of these or all of them. For each person it varies.
And let’s just hear out maybe the 1% of them who may* want to fight the norm and be woke or want equal fairness of life or so.
I recently attended a wedding where the bride shd groom are in their mid 30s, first marriage for each. Neither one had a serious enough relationship until they met each other. They each have careers, and that does limit the romance.
It didn't used to be that way. Women in my parents' generation will usually married in their late teens or early twenties.
I think the problem today is societal. Starting in the late 1960s, political forces created gender confusion. They created this fantasy that humans have escaped nature and are not subject to nature's design anymore.
The "Women's Liberation" movement pushed this philosophy that men and women are exactly the same and therefore should not practice any of the traditional gender "roles" that they have been practicing for literally millions of years of evolution.
And now the "Woke" movement, which again comes from the political realm, has further promoted confusion about who we really are and how nature and millions of years of evolution designed us.
Together these movements have created a fantasy which is damaging human survival.
Birth rates have fallen and somehow it has become popular to see that as some kind of great accomplishment. Women are told to ignore the biological clocks because somehow that is a rebellion against oppression. How stupid.
But nature created gender roles for a reason. And that reason is survival of the species. We tamper with that at our own peril. The survival of the human race is at stake here. If we don't return to some kind of sanity regarding gender and gender roles, we risk the end of all humanity.
I was 20 when I got engaged, my then fiancé was 17. We were together 25 years, 4 days. We have 3 sons together.
That said, if my boys asked for my opinion, I would say live on your own for a while. Hold off getting married until around 30+. Be your own man for a while. Then, if you do find someone, live together at least 2 years before getting married. Had I done that, I probably don't get married to my ex-wife, and maybe I am still happily married to whomever else I would have met.
I am not saying getting married young won't work. It will for some. You could say it worked out for me as 25 years is a long time. But I didn't get married to make it 25 years. I got married "until death do us part". Unfortunately, she didn't want to fight for the relationship.
The longer you wait, the better your chance of it lasting "until death do you part". You grow up and are better able to handle the stresses in a marriage.
This is a question that really needs to be pointed at females. Again... feminism is at work here and has them putting it off until all the alarm bells in their stupid feminist brains start going off because all their eggs are about to be dead.
I make it a female problem because guess what... I can impregnate a 16 year old right now even though I'm past 40... women do not own my luxury even if feminism tells them they can do everything I can do.
And then the baby will come out with deformities like conjoined twins, missing limbs. The quality of semen goes down as the age number goes up. I hope you never think of such a thing but if you ever try to do that to a young female I hope you show her this comment first and not be a coward that way she can see your true colors. Maybe even rainbow since you have such hostility to women on this level.

But babies get genes and quality of life from both parents so having an old lady with a young boy or old man with a young girl is hardly winning… hardly.
Older species have more difficulty but everyone has their own objective.

Some women don’t want kids for many reasons, and I’m sure the choice to have kids later would be due to other various reasons.
Maybe you’ll find some clear ideologies in there revolving that but I don’t think there’s a whole movement around this, and even if there was bringing it back to the timing of a baby.

Well I didn’t mean to offend anybody but I heard thet having children young like in your 20s (not recommending very young) is better than older but if you’re happy that’s all it matters.
Not sure. I was that 5-year-old with a 50 year-old mom and a 60-year-old dad. I was always around older kids when my parents entertained, and I attribute that to my preference for older women as I see 5 to 10 years older as contemporaries.
The bad part of it is those parents might not live long enough to see their grandchildren. Or as in my mom's case, even see me graduate high school.
Some of it might have to do with getting a career established. They might not have much time for dating early on.
People are more financially stable in their 30s/40s so it’s easier to have kids, I personally think it makes sense to wait around your early/late 20s at 40 i probably wouldn’t want kids at that point

Not everyone wants kids. If you don't, then getting married late in your life isn't a huge deal. Also, with a lower infant death rate and ways to ensure women stay fertile for longer, we can have older people giving birth.
