Question about Muslim Nikah- should this be done asap or is it ok for it to be prolonged?

Anonymous
I 24f have known this guy 30m for 8 months now. We met online. We started dating around April 2023. We met up and have spent a lot of time together.
We've told our parents at the beginning of this month and his parents are coming to see me with him on 4th November. My mum was saying that's a long time, usually guys marry straight away.. something along those lines. I, of course, have fears too like what If he backs out last minute or decides he doesn't want to marry me anymore. I do love him a lot and to lose him would hurt. I feel like I may have rushed him, I said I could perhaps go ring shopping on the 5th with his mum (thinking back now, I think this sounds crazy or weird I don't know). I do, however, agree though that our families should meet first, and then possibly we could do the ring shopping on the 5th. He will be really busy in December until like 10th January, he can not book time off from work. We ideally have thought about getting the nikkah done by the end of November. I did tell him if this nikkah is delayed for too long then my mum might not accept, he relayed that message on to his mother. We are both from different cultures and he told me people from his culture do take way to long as they plan a big wedding and etc. We both don't want a big wedding, we just want to get the nikkah done. Have I been saying things to make him feel that I'm rushing it?
I just love him so much and I do fear incase he backs out. This is why I don't want this to take too long and my mum also wants this to happen fast.
