Why do married people keep cheating on their spouses for decades instead of divorce?

I think the question is, why does the spouse stay knowing their spouse is a cheater and won’t change? It could be for comfort and stability, it could be because of children, or it could be because they hold to the idea of a traditional marriage and have values

it's hard to get divorced depending on how deeply enmeshed you two are. your whole life will just be stripped. it's also expensive. and then you have to move. etc... so that's why some people just find it easier to stay.

Because she knows she can't do better than me. So even though she deep down knows I'm doing it she looks the other way. Because what is her other option.
