Describe your ideal wedding?

I mean the superficial, silly stuff. I know an ideal wedding would be to a good partner surrounded by friends and family, etc. I'm asking about your wedding Pinterest boards lol. Dream location? Dream outfit? Dream table settings? (Do y'all even have dream table settings?)

Seeing as there wasn't internet when I got married, I'll say I wanted everything to be really simple -- classy but cozy. Not too many people, of course space for dancing, time for chatting up the guests, and just a nice day for everyone. I'll tell you, I didn't get all precious about the "dream settings" and such. I did get very particular about the cake -- made sure the signature cake had something special in it for him; his favorite type of cake with a discreet outer decoration representing his major accomplishment/interest. I wore something I knew he'd love to see on me (and not too complicated to take off, haha). I was there for him... and he was supposed to be there for me... that's ALL the wedding day is supposed to be about, kiddo. Try to remember that as you prepare your Pinterest Board.

Awww that sounds lovely. I promise I'm not actually one of those "dream wedding girls" lol, I just like event planning and like to hear what other people imagine for their own major events. It's interesting to hear where people add super personal touches, like with your cake, because it's like someone has found a way to be considerate/thoughtful in ways you might never have imagined to begin with 🙂

Tbh watch me elope or something someday and skip the wedding drama 😂

Well, it was a while ago... and we're divorced now, so it was a totally different time... But I'll stick to the small stuff...

I put a small "something blue" on every table...

I personally put the rosebud boutonniere on the ring bearer (my then adorable nephew-to-be) and all the groomsmen...

We took pics at every table and were able to sit and chat with every guest...

I was very young and stuck to fresh flowers for my hair and a little pearl necklace and earrings with a pattern my folks had hand-picked for me.

We spent a full day making the koufeta boubounieres (you can look that up)... and we hand-wrapped those (a lovely ritual with all the women in my fam) and all the modest bouquets (for myself and the bridesmaids) ourselves as well.

And I'll tell you... whenever there was a challenge I'd look at my framed pics of the families going through all these rituals... and whenever I faced a dark day with this guy and all his antics... I thought of these rituals... But I'll tell you... though we're divorced and I'm happily free of him, I'm glad I had those moments with my family. They'll always be happy moments in my heart.

I think i'd like it to be on a beach in the mediterranean or south east asia. maybe do it in the afternoon all the way through the night with the ceremony being at dusk (with a beautiful sunset)

Ooh love that first dress. I'm a sucker for a ball gown, even though I know I probably wouldn't have one if I got married (I'm petite so massive skits tend to look a bit silly on me unless they're like perfectly designed in my opinion)

Brioni suit for me, silver sixpences for wedding favors, cigar bar, hot sit down meal, probably held in early autumn, a vintage Royce, 18kt yellow gold or platinum bands

Ya know that is the most male-coded wedding idea I've ever heard and it's kind of hilarious since usually men don't actually have strong opinions on this stuff, but pop off my guy (and tbh your listed age range suggests that you are still rather young to be jaded, but that's your business)

Nah, I was just curious. I'm no where near close to marriage. Not particularly interested in my own tbh, but I love hypothetical planning with my friends. It's just nice to hear how people would choose to celebrate themselves and their loved ones.

I had a very traditional church wedding. My wife wore a gown that was handmade in China and I wore a morning coat. String quartet played before the wedding, the bride's procession, and the recessional for the couple. They also accompanied me when I sang a solo to my bride.

We also had a traditional country club reception with dinner and a live band. The only thing that wasn't traditional was our entrance at the reception. We were both wearing Groucho Marx glasses when we made our grand entrance.

I'm getting married in Jan. '25. I want it outside surrounded by flowers lol. For the reception, I want it inside with a somewhat fancy setting. Of course there's a lot more to it but I want it more traditional. My boyfriend doesn't care either way. I told him, "All you have to do is just show up and say, "I do" when you're asked", he likes that idea!
