What do you think of big age differences in marriage?

What are your thoughts on a big age difference in marriage and is their a proper range for you? I come from a community where people get married around late college age but the age differences weren't large until anymore childhood friends are marrying men and women 8-10 years older than them. A little bit unsettling, I could never do this. But then there's the questions of where to meet people in a small town post college in the same area and a church with few singles. Feels wrong to switch churches just to meet people hahaha. Of course it does seem the older you get the more gold diggers their are etc and the dynamic really seems to shift. Many thoughts rolled into one question

As someone happily engaged to a guy 15 years younger (and impregnated with twins by him) I'm going to say they can work out super well

However, with that being said, I get why so many people would think major age gaps are weird. There's an assumption that they can't have a lot in common, they're in way too different places in life, power dynamics can potentially be a bit icky, etc. People might assume that the younger partner is a gold digger or the older partner is having a midlife crisis

You see, before I met my fiance I had a lot of those same assumptions. Before him the biggest age gap I ever dated was a guy 7 years older (and I never dated anyone even a year younger). In fact, I refused to give my fiance even a chance for quite a while because I was so hung up about the age gap

However, for a variety of reasons, I eventually decided to give him a try. When I did I found out that he was actually much more compatible with me in terms of maturity and life goals than a lot of guys my age that I'd dated before. We got along super well and loved being around each other. There was also just this immense level of attraction we had/have that I didn't find with other guys I was dating (even though they were my age). We fell in love quickly, and now I'm carrying his two children (and I couldn't be happier)

With that being said, I get that dynamic isn't going to work out for a lot of people. Oftentimes, a guy that much younger isn't going to be compatible in terms of maturity life goals, etc. However, there are major exceptions to this. I think there are a lot of women (and probably men too) who let incredibly happy relationships go because they get too caught up on a big age gap. That was almost the case with me, but I'm so incredibly glad I did not make that mistake.

For the most part I feel it is none of my business and do my best to keep my nose out of it! It's a handful just managing my own family with my husbands help. My values are that if it's not involving my family or physically hurting other persons just mind my own fucking business. Unlike those nose up in the air snots with phony religious ideas that they think it's their job to tell other women what they can or cannot do with there body. It's the worst kind of vermin that exists

Not any of my business to judge other people as long as nothing weird happened when they met and they are both adults who cares

i don't do age gaps either, i think it's a bit weird and just something where i feel like i couldn't relate to them very well

10 years is not a big age difference. 40 years is.
