My fiancé (29m) and I (29f) got engaged early this year are to be wed next year. We're both content with having a smaller wedding (with 50 people) due to our financial circumstances. Both my and my fiancé's parents want to invite 300 of their own guests and want a lavish wedding. My parents are willing to contribute for this extra cost but my fiancé's parents want my fiancé and I to pay for the wedding.
My fiancé's parents are pretty wealthy and I barely even know those 300 extra people, but I'm happy for them to invite their friends as long as they contribute to this extra cost. I spoke to my fiancé about it and he doesn't want to trouble his parents.

First of all, it's my fiancé and me, not my fiancé and I.
Second, if they are adding the guests to your wedding, they pay the fare, not you. This is non-negotiable. If they have a guest who you would have invited anyway, you can pay for them. But their guests who you wouldn't have invited are 100% on them.
U are broke and don’t have the necessary status for a wedding with her. Stay with someone your league
