How do you guys feel about a “live in” girlfriend? Is it taboo in most cultures? Is it an effective way of assessing a woman’s marriage worthiness?

Personally, I feel like I’d almost rather have a live-in girlfriend before I decided to marry someone.

Just to see how they would behave in a typical married setting.

Besides that though, I’ve heard if one is dating in Latin American countries for example, the idea of a “live-in” girlfriend wouldn’t exactly slide. And I assume the same probably goes for many other countries and cultures around the world where it is not uncommon for a woman to live with her parents and take care of them

But I personally feel as though it’s the safest way to gauge whether or not you could marry a certain woman.

Because I have heard many guys say that as soon as they married a woman and started living with her, that her entire mentality changed and she became a screaming and yelling b*tch that would sow constant chaos.

Anyway, I’d just want to avoid experiencing a similar fate myself in any way possible.

I wouldn’t want to ever make the mistake of thinking it’d be a good idea to marry a certain woman, but then later discovering that she adds chaos and instability to my life to the point where I would have been better off single, since I could manage my stability that way.

If you are in a relationship and are both serious about finding a marriage partner, living together isn't a bad idea. It gives you a chance to see each other's habits, behaviors and lifestyle.

But I DO NOT recommend renting a place together, sharing expenses, and moving all your furniture and possessions into one place. That turns into a real mess if the relationship doesn't work out.

I experienced that once when I was 34. A girlfriend, who was 31, lived a long way away suggested that we rent a house together so that there would be room for her kids that she had part time. I rented the house in my name. Things went well for several months, but her crazy started becoming apparent. I'm talking paranoia and diagnosed agoraphobia.
One day, I went to work and returned to find all her furniture and some of mine, along with some money cleared out. She had gotten friends to bring a U-haul to load everything up. Aside from the $500 she stole, she owed me a lot of money and I got stuck with other expenses and then having to find another place and move.
I wound up recovering the $500; wound up in a great apartment; and wrote the rest off to my own naivete.
My consolation was, she was absolutely gorgeous, sexually experienced, and for almost a year we had better sex than porn stars. It was worth it.

What I DO recommend is keeping your own places and living together at one or the other's places or switching off.

I did that with one girlfriend. I was 36 and she was 30. I had a nice apartment and she was renting a house with two room mates. One lived in a granny house in the garage and one lived in a room at the back of the house. Everyone had access to the kitchen.

She felt more comfortable at her place with her bed and all her stuff. I wound up keeping a few changes of clothes, as well as necessities like tooth brush, etc. I could always go to my apartment for anything else. But sometimes she slept at my place.

We lived like husband and wife for almost two blissful years, except without sharing expenses. We slept together, went to work, and came back home every night. She was an amazing woman. I loved her with my heart and soul and she loved me.

A very good way to break up and not make it to marriage!

It's more an excuse for sex for the guys and a very bad awkward way for the girl to know she hates him and all his habits. Often staying a fe wmonths extra to find someplace to life after before ending it.

Loving together is very hard on a relationship. Way better to love close and meet each other every day!

The couples I know who moved in together were more than just boyfriend/girlfriend -- typically engaged. Other couples hold true to the concept of not living together before marriage.

Is it ok to move in together without promise of marriage? in my opinion, no, but I'm also old fashioned with that sort of thing -- and it goes against my cultural and family values.

Bottom like is that it depends on the person and their cultural background as well as their family and religious values...

It's naive of you to think that a woman that is such two faced wouldn't be able to keep the act 2 or 3 years even while living with you, if she's so manipulative she definitely can keep the act up multiple years, many women who married abusive men have been living together since 6 / 8 years and the guy only showed abusive tendency some months after getting married after many years of living togethr is a person is bad they're gonna be able to keep the act up many years.

It's a well know things in France there's a saying that we never really truly know someone.

In the case of Latino households it depends on the family. If they're old fashioned, they might not like it. But I've met plenty of families who don't care about that.

All I can talk about is my family really, my family is religious and conservative. They wouldn't like the idea of me moving in with my boyfriend but at the same time they won't disown me or forbid me from doing anything since I'm an adult.

No society thinks its good. Even western decrepit society knows its a crap deal.

Men know that women are giving themselves a raw deal with how much men have become entitled to without marriage.

As much as it is a good idea to get a feel of your partner; due to my Biblical beliefs, it is wrong.  Plenty of people do it, tho. I just personally wouldn’t. 💜
