Why do you think marriage and divorce rates are declining?

Because marriage has become too risky and costly for men with fewer benefits for men than in the past, so men are avoiding marriage at an increasing rate.

I think marriage rates are declining. People just are not as interested in raising a family. So many people decide that they do not want to get married.

I find it interesting that conservative Arkansas has the highest divorce rate.

Probably cuz the people who have gotten married anytime within the last 10-20 years did so because they wanted to and were in love. Before that people felt the need to rush into marriage so they settled with someone they really didn't like just to please society/family.

And many boomers are just a mess having multiple marriages so constant divorces all the time with that generation but with the newer generations we aren't as messy so less marriages and divorces

Half of marriages end in divorce, women file 80% of them, and men get screwed in divorce court and child custody. That's why men are avoiding marriage, which is why the marriage rate is dropping.

It's not marriage that men are afraid of; they are afraid of divorce because women are abusing it. Women are destroying marriage for everyone.

A friend of mine told me years ago that marriage will become obsolete.

I think the material costs and risks of marriage have made the proposition generally unappealing for a lot of people.

I know that I want to get married some day, but the thought of marrying most women absolutely terrifies me.
