Do you believe money, luxury, status and good looks might corrupt people?

My dad says he knows a group of high status men with jobless wives and over 90% of them abused them. I don’t believe my boyfriend would ever hit me, but I try to get rich cause if we divorce 40 years down the road, I do not want to work as a cashier at Wal mart when I should be drinking lattes at a resort in Mexico.

Yes, I believe that they can corrupt people.

I don't doubt that those things are likely to corrupt people. I also believe that good people who are happy with their lives are unlikely to be corrupted.

I wonder what I would do in retirement. Working as a cashier might be fun. It's low pressure and I would have generally good interactions with the customers. It would be a welcome change from the pressure of corporate life. An occasional latte would be nice, too.

I do think think those 3 things make most people think they're BETTER than other people. It depends if you consider that "corruption." I would say that was always in them, and that just brought it to the surface.

Some people can be easily corrupted, even without luxury, but some people have integrity and moral, they are practically immune to corruption.
