What are the pros and cons of having a destination wedding? Do you think it's a good idea for couples to consider the financial implications?

I don't know if this helps, or not, but my sister got married in Jamaica (we're from the US), and almost nobody showed up, 'cause they either couldn't afford it, or just didn't want to spend the money.

It was probably depressingly empty (I wasn't there, either, but was told that only about 1/20th of the guest list actually showed)

Of course they should consider the financial implications. They should not go into debt to pay for a wedding.
