Do you love dancing at weddings?

I am not asking about dancing at YOUR wedding, when you are the bride or the groom. I am asking about dancing at a wedding where you are simply an invited guest. My perception is that women feel more romantic when they are attending a wedding, they want to dance, and a guy who asks a single girl to dance at a wedding reception will automatically score points with the girl (maybe, but not necessarily enough points to end the night with them between the sheets.)

I dislike dancing. Period. Not happening. End of discussion.

I love dancing, and it would score points with me to be asked.

But I typically see guys whining about having to dance at weddings and I don't get it. I mean, either learn to dance really well so you don't feel embarrassed, or just have fun with it. Most people don't dance at weddings, anyway. They bob up and down. Not a high bar to reach and it'll make their girl happy. I don't understand the self-consciousness; it's lame to sit on the sidelines and send your S. O. off to dance alone. It sends the message that you don't want to be seen with her...

I silently judge all guys who sit out wedding dances unless they are handicapped. Lame, lame, lame!

I do like to dance but I was slightly nervous when the maid of honor asked me to dance and my girlfriend was at the wedding with me, turns out she was cool with it though.

@Billybob46 I think as long as you have open communication in that situation, it's not a big deal. I've danced with multiple partners and I view it like an art or a sport, nothing to be jealous of. : ) Dancing is social.

I like to dance, but I'm not a good dancer... I dance at weddings anyway.

My wife and I recently attended a family wedding. She's an excellent dance and I'm not very good, but we hit the dance floor anyway, and had a few nice dances together, both fast and slow. I then sat down, while she found my grown daughter and a few other women and they all danced together until the band took a break, about 15 minutes later. It was a typical wedding... many of us guys sitting at our tables watching our wives, girlfriends and dates dance together on the dance floor. It was fun.

I've always found it difficult to dance in front of others without being at least somewhat tipsy. I've been too self conscious and care too much about what others think most of my life. I'm only now starting to loosen up in that regard.

I personally prefer drinking and conversing with others to anything like that. I'll participate in physical competitions like a pushups contest or something. But otherwise I'm usually on the sidelines watching others.

I hate dancing. Ok, maybe if I'm on my own and not worried about what anyone would think, and it's corny... ok.

I realized (in college) that while I personally hate it, and I'm made fun of for it (even when I've genuinely tried to not embarrass myself or anyone else), the women I'd want to date would probably love dancing... and I hate being the "watch my purse" guy, so if a woman asked me, I started saying yes to it. I wouldn't naturally offer most of the time, but if asked, heck yes I would, even as much as I hated it.

If I felt I was obligated, yes, I'd offer (or ask), but pretend like I wanted nothing more than to dance with her... and I'd get out there on the floor. That's if I had a date (maybe once, if that) or we were the only ones our age at the wedding, or we ended up the only ones at the table (wanting something to do other than sit in awkward silence).

I remember at a cousin's wedding, the parents took me... and I was seated at another table away from them (Thank God). There was a woman at the table I was assigned to who WAS kinda cute, but for whatever reason (s), she was in full b**ch mode (complete with a strong b**ch force field...) the whole time. There was no one around her age, except me, and we got stuck with some geezers who (unfortunately) started joking that we should start dating, or that "she should get the bouquet and... I'm there... so you never know," which pissed her off worse, while I tried saving the situation and saying nice things. The geezers eventually went out to the dance floor, and so a moment later, I asked (got the loud snarl). "Ok... just asked." (and I excused myself and left her alone to wallow in her own snarly b**** field), and politely got out of there.

I had an accident recently and have some brain issues. I doubt I'll be cutting a rug any time soon, which actually suits me fine. Maybe if I get married or get a serious girlfriend, I may have to go out and dance from time to time, and try to ignore my issues.

I do not dance but one time I was at the wedding of a friend from college and a very lovely girl on the brides side caught my attention. Since nobody knew who I was I actually went over to her and asked her to dance. This is the first time I told this story.
