What do you think of this advice a friend gave me about dating?

She says just because somebody is attractive, does not mean they will make you happy, and that she knew people who married very attractive people who were miserable.

My dad married an extremely attractive woman, and my dad had been miserable every day of his married life.

My uncle married an average looking woman, and he has had a much happier marriage than my dad.

I know, because I lived with my uncle and aunt and cousin every summer in America, when I was not doing my 8-10 month school year, here in Canada.

Once I became an adult, our paths diverged and I stopped spending my summers with my cousin in America, since I did not have American citizenship, and would not have been allowed to work a job in America.

Very true, many people don't understand this until it is too late! obviously attraction needs to be there, but if it is only attraction, then you miss 90% of what a relationship is.

Beauty is in the eyes of beholder . we all see and feel things different when we meet new people in life as we look at them we might pick them because we have an ahhh moment and we get stuck there . Or when we meet some one that we like we look deep inside through there eyes to there heart. We listen to there heart beat through there words

We watch them them interacting with other people it's shows us who they are. For me true beauty comes from the inside. In the form of energy..

Who are they when they are around children pets. Homeless .

Who are they when they when the have 5 thing that have to be done in the next 5 min

Who are they when all they have is 100 dollars there bills add up to 120 dollars. And they are hungry they have 20 min left in the day to have the bills paid how do they handle it

Or if they are hungry. They stop and get something to eat. And on the corner stands a man with a pet asking for money for food for his pet. What will they do

All it takes is thr right to people to get together and have a beautiful child. But how are they raised. Just because there beautiful on the outside doesn't mean there beautiful on the inside. .

If you choose the person your with because of what they look like only. Well you better have patience. Because now you have to deal with who they are on the inside.

We all see beauty in different ways someone us look to the inside. Some look to the outside.

Some don't even look it's what they feel when they are around that person

But none of it even matters if your not willing to become one and adap. Or to give instead of take . Or willing to learn instead of knowing it all or willing to Sacrifice. For the better.

There are moments in time when you have to let go and make it about the other person. And if you can't see or do that it's never going to work. Beauty comes from the heart. Not only there heart but our hearts to

I'll let you know... my girlfriend is extremely attractive but she is not arrogant about it. We are both very happy for 5 years now. She thinks I am extremely attractive. But my experience dating says otherwise. Sometimes it's stressful because some men, arrogant and full of themselves flirt with her, or try to pick her up. One going so far as to ask her what are you doing with that guy? Overall as we both age it changes for everyone. If all you have is they way you look, and nothing else. It will be a stressor.

It is almost common sense : if you only focus on the outside, then that's all you will get...
Don't get me wrong, there are MANY decent looking people that are awesome. PLUS, what even is attractive? We all have different views when it comes to beauty, I'm not everyone's type , you're not everyone's time and so on...
BUT, focus on their mentality and personality that will make the person look automatically attractive.
