Do you regret getting married? Why or why not?

I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. I didn't have any desire to get married or have kids. It wasn't until I was in my early 30s that I started thinking about finding a partner to spend the rest of my life with.

When I was 36, I met a 30 year old and we wound up living together for two years. She was the first women I ever loved with my heart and soul. I absolutely adored her. She loved me, too. But, as it turned out, we couldn't have made it as a content couple for the rest of our lives.

When I was 40, I met my future wife. After a year of dating her exclusively, I decided that I would trust her completely and would be happy to spend the rest of my life with her. I asked her to marry me and we tied the knot a year later.

I made the right choice. We've been married for almost 29 years now. She's a wonderful wife. Through good times and bad times, she has stuck with me. We've had a lot of fun and built a wonderful life together. We are best friends, lovers and trusted partners.
I would be lonely and miserable without her.

@nastyb. My wife was 37 when we met. We had both had full, fun and fulfilling lives before we met but neither of us had been married or had kids.
So, if you want to get married, it's never too late.

there is just a lot of hate and condescension around older women. Maybe thats why I feel the way I feel

@nastyb. I hear you. But then again, even on GAG I hear a lot of guys who are attracted to older women. And a lot of women these days still look amazing well into their 40s and beyond.

honestly at my age, having been through so many men, I'm still unmarried because I haven't found anyone I liked. On the upserrare occasion, I do find someone funny that I like, they either are not marriage material or do not like me back or have persoality sisues.

Right now, I just am so lonely, never having been in a relationship ever in my life, has really taken a toll on me, I'm ready to just marry just about anyone who is educated, has a professional job, financially stable, mature, kind.

The issue is... I ONLY LIKE funny guys and there are just so few men out there that are actually humorous. Trust me, I have looked EVERYWHERE. Its hopeless.

Being lonely is unbearably painful. Having no one to go through life with, have no one to eat with, doing 90% of everything alone, having no one to care for me when I'm sick, nobody waiting for me to do things after work.

I just want to get married. but its very hard to hide my lack of passion for the other person, if I do marry someone I don't have passion for. I might love him, take care of him but it doesn't mean I'm excited to see him.

maybe with your wisdom, you can offer some advice

Friends become harder to make as people get older.

Friends come and go.

THis is why I just want to get married and start a family.

I am ready to settle for ANYONE who I can get along with, by this point.

Right now, every day is a nightmare... I have no one to be there for me during the darkest things of my life. Nobody to do things with. I literally do 95% of everything alone. Nobody cares about me. If I died tomorrow, nobody will miss me or bury me. I have no emergency contacts

That sucks, nastyb. But you're only 26. You'll find someone when you least expect it. Just don't settle for an ass hole. You deserve to be cherished.

I'm 29. I rather have someone by my side than to have absolutely no one.

Even if he is boring, nothing special. That is someone who can I can do things with for the rest of my life.

I don't even care about being cherished anymore.

But I know I will definitely have a child at 35, if I am still single by that age.

I have been on a lot of online dates. Met tons of guys. Probably at least 40 guys. Only developed feelings 2 times. Both those times, thing just didn't work out.

I have tried looking in other places but never found anyone fit.

Unfortunately, there aren't a large variety of guys I'm attracted to.

Often times, the guys would like me but I would never like them back.

No, I never regret not getting married. For a man like me I am best alone and single.

Why I don't regret my decision?

Simple, first of all my type of woman who is both super gorgeous in looks combined with super short BOY CUT hairstyle with toned physique and who has an excellent personality simply does not exist. I have never tried nor explored but I am still sure about this.

Secondly, I just don't believe that a woman will be ever loyal to me. Not in the long run.

Thirdly, it is connected to the above point. I am a person with a very self protective and defensive mindset, for me protecting myself from getting hurt is more important than exploring and taking risks in the area of love and romance.

There are many other reasons but yes given these 3 top reasons I never regret my decision to never get married.

I am not married, but I am cautious about it. It's a serious business for two people, and even couples who believe they're ready for it or should do it have ended up regretting it or experiencing much sorrow in it. That's not to say marriage in itself is some bad or ominous thing because it isn't, but it's serious business, and you really need to be with the right person for it, and you need to be the right person for them as well.

No. Getting married was one of the best decisions of my life. I married my best friend. And I know no matter how bad it might gets she's always got my back. And on the flipside we ride every highpoint and victory together. I can't imagine doing that alone.
