Guys, Married 5+ years - are you happy to be married, or do you feel you were just doing what you thought you should do, and now regret it?

Are you happily married and still in love? Do you wish you’d waited longer before making the decision to get married? Do you think you married the wrong person? Have you both been together a long time and now you’re feeling bored of your partner? Do you want to “upgrade”? Do you miss the single life? Is it the best decision you’ve ever made?

I was happily married for a long time until she changed on me and became very selfish , and ruined our marriage but , I don’t regret being married because her and I have a lot of good memories together, before it turned to shit , so I am willing to get married again , if I find the right girl that isn’t selfish , that understands what it means to be in a relationship. With all my experiences with girls’ through the years , I realized selfishness is one of the biggest relationship killers , if you can’t remove selfishness for your partner , don’t expect them to remove it for you , and unfortunately that’s why so many relationships fail these days , because people do not know how to remove selfishness for their partners , so if You are dating someone that doesn’t consider your feelings and is clearly selfish , my advice is to dump their ass immediately , because you are wasting your time thinking they actually love and care about you , they just love the convenience of you , and what they can receive from you without giving in return , relationships aren’t hard , selfish people make them hard. Now that I am single again,, I no longer invest my heart and time into selfish girls’. Selfish people will never experience true love, because all they care about is themselves, and what they feel is best for themselves, they do not know how to give , the same way they expect to receive. People that constantly think grass is greener on the other side. Find someone that wears your shoes the same way they expect you to wear theirs, that will water the grass that you both are already standing on , if not , you will be left heart broken when they decide to be selfish. I feel social media played a big part on making people more selfish these days , compared to how it was back in the day before social media apps were really a thing and cell phones with internet technology were really a thing. I lived in a time when we didn’t invest a lot of our time into social Media and cell phones , people actually valued and respected each other more without face planting themselves into their phones or being brainwashed by shit they see on social media. Every time I go out in public I see people face planted on their phones and to me it looks so pathetic. I can’t be a hypocrite , because I use it as well , but I don’t allow it to consume my life , especially when I am out in public or on a date , I will only play on my phone when I have nothing else
Going on , my phone isn’t a priority to me like it is to a lot of people, . I feel it’s disrespect to be playing on a phone when you are on a date or talking to some one face to face. So until I meet a non selfish girl my ass is staying single. But unfortunately I am realizing it’s a lot harder to find a girl that isn’t selfish these days. So my ass might stay single until I die because I am over having my heart shit on. If I do end up getting married again , that will be my last time , if that marriage fails , I am throwing in the towel on it. Even though I believe true love does exist , it’s just harder To find these days

Sorry to hear that. I think that seems to happen to many people - family expectations seem to play a big roles in lots of people’s relationships. At least you seemed to work out you weren’t right for each other relatively soon.

Divorce was finalized last December. My life is definitely worse on multiple levels for having married her in the first place.
