Living together with other people is meant to reduce cost of renting an apartment or condominium.

You can share the costs and that makes it more affordable to everyone. Usually, each person sharing the apartment has a room of his/her own and they only share the kitchen and the bathroom, provided there is only one bathroom.

Chores are shared among the people, or at least they should be.

After being married, there is no need to share an apartment with anyone else but your husband or wife. As simple as that.

I don't know where you are from but I am sure that people on low income also share places with each other to save on costs.

Women don’t propose so we have no control over marriage, we can cook, we can do everything and that still doesn’t guarantee a western man proposing. Another thing is rent, bills here are expensive, so many people here have roommates or are barely making it by even with good jobs, so it’s a financial help to live with your partner. Lastly, someone’s lifestyle habits are something you will have to live with forever. So if you’re partner makes it a habit to get drunk and get lost every Friday and come home at 3am, or is a slob that has their place in filth, you wouldn’t know many details of them until you live with them.

A big reason is to test drive living together to see if it works. People can be madly in love but then learn their partner has tons of annoying habits around a house you wouldn’t have known about.
