Is being a housewife/stay at home mom the same thing as slavery?

I feel the need to create this question because I made the mistake of defending my wife's choice to be a home maker and housewife on a woman's forum.. And now not only am I getting hate from that, people are messaging her demanding she divorce me.. My wife finds it funny, and just blocks them, but I really feel the need to ask, is it really the same as slavery?

I've never, not once ordered her around, never told her what she can and cannot do, never controlled anything she does, and her choose to be a housewife was hers alone. So why do these women say it's slavery?

I was a stay at home mom when my kids were younger. I was also a career woman before having kids…. Both are rewarding and important for the well being of being a woman. Neither equals to slavery.
the bond with my kids are non-negotiable… we chose to buy health insurance so that I can stay home with them over going to work to maintain having health insurance.

now my hubby is a stay at home husband … I don’t order him around… in fact, I told him to not do house chores. We got cleaning ladies and lawn services…

life is not all about work… it’s about love, peace and harmony when it comes to family.

those women have been brain washed.

I know most at my job who makes good money … yet pops out a kid… back to work… when they can stay home with their. Baby for minimum of 1 yr.
they have been washed that they need to have a certain life style.
so, they work, cook, clean, care for kids… and complains how stressful they are and can’t sleep and takes meds… = the American way… oh and in debt 😂

Wait… my last paragraph… they become slaves!!
Hubby and I had some discussions regarding this American dream… having one partner work. I said it still can in America.
After months of denying how the financial works.
It still can. If people just stop buying crap to fill their empty head…. And work in communication how to build finances and teach their kids how to save.
That education is non existent in most households nowadays. Thats why we are slaves to credit and women “have” to work. .

Sitting at home with kids and making some house shores while man works like wage slave 10h a day to pay all the bills and to sustain acceptable life quality.
I think the person who who see the women as slave in this situation should work a while a full time job to see who is real slave here.

But there are men who's wives are homemakers at their instance! And along with being an arsehole, he makes it feel like slavery to her.
I say it depends on what kind of man she ends up marrying.

Being a housewife/stay at home mom isn't the same thing as slavery, but it's quite degrading. While your peers live freely, you stay home, babysit his children, and serve your ungrateful husband.
