I said no but technically we all are. Women that are housewives are a blessing honestly. You know that your kids are taken care of. They were raised with a proper parent most likely. We have run into a huge issue in society because parents have been both in the workplace now. The kids are with other people instead of their family most of the day now while they are still a younger age and still developing how they view the world. A daycare center watching 30 kids is not going to pay as much attention and give care to your kid as you or your housewife would. A few things have caused this to happen. First feminism and womens rights. The next would be the fact that everyone degrades women that are housewives. (I. E. You belong in the kitchen, go make me a sandwich, and crap like that.) And I'm not really sure why. This job is just as important if not more than the breadwinners job. Because now we got a small group of people raising all of our kids. And in some cases instead our kids adopting our ideas they adopt the ideas of this small group.

I won't bring up the 400 years of slavery suffered by the black people in America. Nor will i mention the nets around Chinese factories put up to catch the workers that snap and try to kill themselves by jumping off the roof.

But i so have a vote that should matter. I am a "house husband". The Mrs has an 8-430, M-F day job.

My sugar kind of keeps me out of the local work force. Wven though i have wildly uncontrollable diabetes, and 2 prosthetic legs, i do the following :
Cook
Clean
Do laundry
Shop
Make her lunch
Bake
Wash dishes
Pay bills
Schedule appointments
Maintain vehicles
Interview workmen, when needed
And... I make sure my wife cums each and every time she wants.

What else could you ask out of your "house spouse"?

There is not one thing on that list that makes me feel, as if, i am a slave.

And those that have a similar list, and feel like they are a "slave", need to get a firm grip on their ears so they can pull their head out of their ass.

I think the word "slave" instills a lot of oppression that most women who are housewives don't and never will experience. Many housewives such as myself are quite free to speak, think, and meander about whenever we like. Our job is to make sure the home is kept in order, bills are paid, things are clean, meals are cooked, etc.

I certainly can make decisions for the two of us, and I'm free to see my friends or go out wherever and whenever I want.

Our arrangement is that my husband contributes full time to most of the finances, and I contribute full time to managing the house. It's equal and fair for us both. (I also get contract work, so it's not like I never bring money in, but I work from home which makes me more or less a housewife just because I'm home all the time anyway.)

Anyway, housewives merely have a differentiation of role from husbands. The institution itself is supposed to be liberating. Specific applications of that institution, however, are not immune to having their purpose perverted. In fact, there is nothing that has been given to mankind, that has not been perverted in some way at least once.

All institutions set up for good can be corrupted. The question is: was it always corrupt? Who instituted it, and to what initial end? Marriage was not founded by mankind, even if it were founded FOR mankind. Ergo, it was not evil from the beginning. That some use it to evil ends is another matter.

It doesn't mean She won't earn anything cuz you can't work from home and earn a lot cash and I would really honest with you,
She (my G. F) pull a lot more weight as compare to me in relationship cuz granted I am earning more than her but She is still way above typical lazy US man, along with that whenever She has time I am having home cooked dinner and don't have to worry about groceries and other chores.

A housewife is a wife who stays home instead of having a job making money, their only job is to do chores which if the people living in the home are averagely tidy people... thats the easiest thing to do? If a women making twice my paycheck started dating me and wanted me to be a househusband i would fucking drop my job and be the maid of the house.

It's a voluntary condition that the woman can change anytime she pleases by leaving. She may not like the consequences of leaving but it's similar to the choice an employee has in leaving a job.

I heard the statistic that 80% of women in England were better off as housewives than as "liberated" feminists. Only 20% are better off than in older times... in other words they're under more stress and worked harder with career jobs than they had it as a housewife. feminists admitted this.

No, not unless she is being forced to be a housewife. There is nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom or stay at home dad or anything like that. Its not enslavement unless you are being forced by another person against your will. Now there are situations where this is the case, and in those situations yes it would be, however this is not usually the reason a woman is a housewife. Its usually a choice to my knowledge. I know a few girls who aspire to be stay at home moms. Really the idea here is as long as they have the freedom to choose not to be a house wife without someone afflicting consequences on them they aren't slaves.

Both sides need to do their parts. What gets done by who is pre-determined in many cases such as expecting the woman to vacuum the carpets clean the furniture once a week, or at least every other. Most women would prefer that to lawncare and winter weather responsibilities, right?

This is one of the places where the feminist movement went wrong. Women since the 80's started complaining about men not helping with housework, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, etc.. and now fast forward to millenials and gen z.. we have men doing 50% or more of her chores, and still having to do 100% of his own.

Back then serving your husband wasn’t dishonor, it was taking care of your husband. Your husband. There wasn’t much else to do but to live happy, sometimes the men go to war or do some type of hard labor or political position. Now we have a lot of different jobs, dreams to do amazing things, however now being a housewife is looked down upon. Women look down on other women that choose to just be a housewife even though it can be just as tough as having a job. Serving your husband in that sense is seen as being less then him. This is harsh to suggest. Yes, one can say its free labour and in some cases it is even true!
Raising a family, being the primary care giver, helping the old in the family etc are perfectly noble contributions.
Do some of them do a great job at it? Yes
Are some of them just lazy? Yes

I'd say no... While it seems like slavery, she still has a choice. She is not bound legally to work. It's nice when she does it willingly but not when it's demanded of them. It can be difficult for a woman to leave a marriage if she has been out of the workforce for a long time, but it's not impossible. If her husband is a high earner she is likely to be awarded support for some time to make up for the time she spent supporting his career.

In some third world countries where they have no choice, it could be argued that it's slavery. For the most part though, it's not. It's a choice, and it's just being a homemaker. It shouldn't be looked down upon, it's not as easy as it seems.

My ex wife was a housewife for years. By no means was she a slave. I worked two jobs to make sure i could give her and the kids the life i thought they deserve. She stayed home with the kids because daycare expenses would cost more in a month then what she would make at the time. The husband who goes out to work every day to support her is closer to a slave.
Speak to a random selection of women on the wrong side of 30 and most will say that they want to be stay-at-home wives, especially if they have children.
Because of biological differences, women who try to have and do it all burn out and have miserable lives.

She insisted on staying home with our children because she grew up with a working mother and hated it although she had great love for her mom. She makes her own schedule and priorities and could have left anytime she wanted... with more than half my stuff and my kids.
