Is it strange for a married guy to want to have lunch with you and walk to car each time with you after work?

there is this new married coworker who start working here he speaks my language but his English is poor so they brought him over to my department and I’m the only person he has to speak to In my language the thing is I don’t mind talking to him if I have free time but this past days his been wanting to eat lunch with me and leave home with me and talk with me a lot he hasn’t said everything inappropriate yet been normal casual conversations but I don’t think it may look pretty from the side view am I overthinking this all or this is bit weird?

Please don’t make this strange or weird, because it’s completely not that. It’s normal for the new person at work/school to latch onto whoever they’re training with or whoever they make a connection with, and then branch off later. On top of that, you claim to be the ONLY other person who speaks his language, so if he can’t properly communicate with other coworkers yet then of course he feels most comfortable talking to you. Eventually he may make more friends, but he is brand new, give him a chance. The SOLE reason you are making anything of such a simple, platonic situation is because he’s a guy and you’re a girl. That’s it. I’m sure you’ll add in the fact that he walks with you to the car or waits for you at lunch to make it look more suspicious but to me this is just simple friendship in the making, nothing more.

His marital status shouldn’t matter given the facts: he’s just a new guy who barely speaks a lick of English and is hanging around the one person he can fully communicate with. I’d feel differently if he were doing anything suggestive, like flirting, complimenting, touching, etc. That’s not the case here. If other men are eyeing you, I’d say that’s a completely unrelated situation. If it’s other coworkers (including females) in general eyeing you guys it could be plain old curiosity. Remember— he’s new. They don’t know him and he’s a new face to look at in an otherwise uninteresting work shift.

You just seem dissatisfied with the idea that there isn’t more to his behavior when I’m not sure why you’d want there to be… given he’s married with kids and all.
