Question

Is a Wedding important to you with all your family and friends attending, or would you prefer a much quieter affair?

Perhaps you have had a wedding, what type did you have?

Or have you no plans to get married?

We had a church wedding and had the reception at my father in laws house. It was a real home made wedding. My father in law and me finished the basement so it was a large room. We had a bar set up and home made italian food. The wedding cake was done by a woman my wife knew at work and the photographer lived up the street. My wife wore her mother's wedding gown. She washed it by hand in Ivory Snow soap and did the alterations herself. I wore a gray suit. We had about 50 -60 people and it got a little crowded but everyone said it was the beat wedding they ever went to. The only problem was that there was only one bathroom. I got my friends to pee outside.

I got married in my church, with the church choir singing and a string quartet playing. I wore a morning coat and she wore a beautiful lacy gown. There were about 150 guests in attendance, including some of her family members who travelled from China for the event. The reception was at a country club with a full dinner, dancing, and a 7-piece band. It was very traditional, formal, and the epitome of a classic American wedding.

I had a formal wedding, a civil union signing day and a religious vow renewal. It was a lot but the guy wasn’t actively religious so it took some doing.

It is sheer folly for a guy to go down that path knowing that 50% of marriages end in divorce at 8 years, 60% at 10 years and of those that last 20 years, 30% end in divorce upon empty nest.

It is not so much no plans but a plan not to.

If I got married small wedding with family and friends is my ideal wedding I'm not crazy about dressing up so I probably won't do white dress/ black suit but still wear something nice. as far as where I don't care as long as it's not a court room

Something very small and simple. Only with my immediate family and close friends.  I wouldn't mind a religious wedding if it was very small.
