Is it normal for a spouse to be upset about opposite-sex friends?

I hate it when my husband asks me to pick him or my friends. I have known most of my guy friends longer than I know my own husband. Sometime I feel like I know my guy friends more than my own husband. Some of these guys were my exes, but my husband doesn’t know that.

I think that anyone that is jealous of friends of the opposite gender has issues with self-confidence and seriously lacks trust about his/her own partner.

This happens because people sexualize a platonic relationship and feel that something must be going on between those friends of opposite genders.

Everything boils down to the fear that the partner may (and will) be unfaithful.

In your case, he may have a point since you are obviously hiding from him the fact that you have some of those male friends you were fornicating with prior to meeting him. He is not entirely wrong to be upset.
