The submission of a wife to her husband, how do you explain it?

The wife trusts her husband to lead, protect and provide for her, unless and until he fails to do so.
There’s a common conflation of submission with complete submission. As in women are to be completely helplessly ruled by men regardless of men’s virtues. Literally nobody is making that case.
Men and women have their value and roles. Contrary to feminist rhetoric, nobody can do it all. So it’s primarily up to the man to decide how much he can do and how much his wife will contribute to what is best for the marriage, home and family. It’s her responsibility to trust him and support him.
Submission simply means to accept another’s leadership. It doesn’t mean relinquish all agency. Of course dissenters couldn’t support their arguments without framing it entirely in the negative.
