Not for me… I don’t like buying stuff I don’t need.
I do buy some stuff to treat myself and hubby and kids and family from time to time.
when it’s a hobby… it almost sounds like an addiction…something some has to do on a regular bases…

addiction … when shopping so much one becomes broke.
my friend who I hung out with yesterday we talked about having enough money for retirement …
she is alone and planning to stay alone…
she has a job paying enough to live day to day… paying mortgage/bills. set aside money for savings for retirement… and saving to go on her dream trip to Japan in 2 years.

then she has her addiction of buying … she has so much stuff that her apartment is too small… she can’t throw out anything … so that is an addiction… she knows the root of that problem but she said she will not change… her mom is the same way…

Personally I do not count it as a hobby. It could lead to accumulation of a lot of stuff that isn't needed, and cost a lot of money.

I shop or window shop in my spare time for fun. Some of the things I collect have limited pre-order windows, they only make enough to fulfill those orders. So I can make lists and budget things out.

Also really like buying random stuff for my kids, friends, etc
