With many agencies switching to Lidar: “Light Detection and Ranging” (commonly called a laser), radar detectors aren't as popular as they were twenty years ago. Nevertheless, if detectors are legal in the jurisdiction, you are driving through then yes, they are effective. Keep in mind that the detector's purpose is to warn you of radar being used in the general area so that you can check your speed.

I used to have one years ago. They're useful when they're good, and if you're someone who likes to drive between 80 mph and 85 mph in a 65 mph zone and generally stays in one lane on the highway. If you're someone who consistently drives over 90 mph and/or swerves in and out of traffic, nothing will help you.

Nope I don't have one besides google maps has been pretty good at informing where there are speed traps

I have a couple of them but I never use them if you want me to go down to the pawn shop but I'm sure there's one down there ask him what the price is there going to be Sky High ask them how much they paid for it they will tell you by law and then offered them 10% more than what they pay for it if they've had it for a long time more likely they will sell it to you that's right by a lot of my tools and a lot of things because you can get good deals

The best part about pawn shops is that you can get it cheaper and most of everything is brand new somebody just needed money really quick and then they couldn't pick it up tell me when you can save half price on something this brand-new I just bought a MIG TIG welder yeah it goes for 1200 brand new and I paid 389 or something like that

They're illegal here. If you get a ticket and they find out you had a radar detector... triple the fine and confiscate the radar detector.

No, with the traffic around here you're lucky if you can approach the speed limit most of the day.

Radar is obsolete... now they use a device that shoots out a beam of light and measures the time it takes to bounce back
