Is US shopping malls dead?

There was an article posted here in a UK newspaper (The Sun) on US shopping Malls across the US being dead. There was a photo of just one guy in an entire shopping Mall too.

Is it true US shopping malls are dead? whats going on?

They're dying, but a few are still up and running. In my area, several closures have been due to consistent crime. Malls here tended to draw hordes of juvenile delinquents and other undesirables, which drove patrons away.

Not as popular since online shopping is so convenient but I wouldn’t say dead. There are still people who value trying things on first or just enjoy walking around the mall in general.

Well yeah, many Malls are closing.
