Can you tell when a store at the mall is not going to make it?

I unfortunately see this all the time where a store just isn’t selling. Maybe it’s just not something a lot of people want, maybe it’s in a bad location, etc. But you can tell nobody’s ever hardly there, they’re looking around almost desperate for anyone to buy at least something, and you see it over a few months and poof… it’s gone

It's a question of price and marketing.

Overpriced stuff. I see it all the time. When they try and sell something 2.5 to 3 times the price you can find next door (the exact same article, not something similar).

Unfriendly staff. You'd be surprised how many times I've stepped into a store and it seems you are just bothering them.

Selling quality products but failing to make the customer see the difference. If you sell superior quality, or a product is handmade, the customer needs to be told how it was made and why it's so important. Otherwise, customers will look at the price tags and just walk out.

Oh for sure. Even if let’s say something is more expensive in one store but the staff is friendlier. Oh! 💯 people would rather pay a higher markup for better customer service

But over pricing shit will run you out of business before anything else. You have to find the happy middle. What is the item worth? How much do you want to make off of it? And what are people willing to pay for it?

If people aren’t willing to pay that price for something or it’s not something the majority of people are going to want. You’re not selling 💩

Stores that especially are geared towards a niche audience. Meaning the majority of people aren’t going out to buy it. Okay, that’s fine if you’re selling it among other things.

But if you only have a store selling model school buses. Most people who aren’t into buying model school buses aren’t going to shop there if that’s all you’re selling

I live on a strip shopping street. That might not a US term but it is a streets of shops not a mall.

Yeah see it all the time. A new shop opens and you think who is going to buy that shit. Sometimes I am wrong because I comprehend what girls will buy and they do do most of the buying. Mostly right nonetheless.

One shop left a note saying we are going to a new location where we will be appreciated. Even girls didn't save that shop.
