Will STORES be OPEN on New Years Day?

New Years Day (1 January 2025) is rapidly approaching.

In our area in Southeast US, we recently heard that Trader Joe's, Costco and Aldi's' will be closed on New Years Day. Other places may close as well, and we;ve been warned to check before assuming a place is open.

What about in your area of the world?

Nothing will be up so you better go to the grocery store on Monday night and buy a lot of food because if not, you will be a hungry man on New Year’s Day watching the Bowl football 🏈 games with no food to eat

It’s a nice store but they don’t have any dinner items that they make. It’s not a real great high tech deli. I like the stores where they make homemade dinners where you can pick up for a good deal

A lot of stores are open on New Years Day. It is up to the local laws and whether or not the store wants to open.

A few will be open but with reduced hours. Its actually nice to walk around town without seeing loads of people. You notice stuff you haven't paid attention to before.

Most likely yes, but some will close like big box stores. Fast food places might still be open.

Publix will also be closed on January 1, as well as my law office.

Since New Years is not a religious holiday, many will be open.
