Are stores and restaurants CLOSED on Christmas DAY in your area?

Question

Where I live in Southeast US, most stores close early on Christmas Eve and don't reopen until the morning after Christmas Day. About the only stores open are those attached to gas stations. Most restaurants are closed on Christmas Day, even the fast food places. Only a few restaurants are open for business.

Virtually everything is closed around here bar the odd Asian restaurant catering for those who can't be arsed to cook on the big day.

Diversity has barely reached this far west so there's a shortage of people willing to work Christmas day.

We are in Florida now. Saw McDonalds, Starbucks opened. Some gas stations with food open. Lots of Chinese restaurants open. And the touristy areas with $100. dinners open.

I'm from the Bible belt, too, and I guess it's been ingrained in me since childhood to prepare to "unplug" on Christmas day. I make sure I have firewood, milk, eggs, and of course a big ham before everything closes.

There was a Chinese restaurant and a restaurant in a hotel open here, a long with some gas stations and one bar. Virtually everything else was closed.

Christmas eve - everything is closed except for a tank station. Christmas day, 3 stores are open as usual. (We celebrate Christmas on Christmas eve)

In the country I live, almost all stores are closed on both 25th and 26th of December. On Christmas Eve stores are open, but close earlier than usual.
