For some reason you need something at the hardware store. think you could easily find it without asking an employee? or would you get lost? like a home depot or Lowe's or whatever you guys have outside the u. s? lol
I can find anything, but I still ask to save time, or to make sure they have it. Sometimes they put things in weird places and I don't want to walk up and down every aisle, looking at every bin. It's a heck of a lot easier just to ask. Plus they have so much stuff, that it's easy to walk right past it without seeing it.
I've been running around hardware stores for over 60 years. Those were real hardware stores back then. DIY places like Home Depot and Lowes didn't exist yet.
I also know where a lot of specialty stores are that sell things you aren't likely to find at a regular DIY store. Those are the kind of places that professionals go to, but most are still open the the public.

I'm fairly good at finding my way around them, but occasionally one will throw me for a loop when I'm looking for a specific item. Last week I needed a ceiling fan switch with speed control. I looked everywhere in the aisle with outlets and switches... not there. They were in the lighting aisle, nowhere near than fans.
I need an employee just to help me to find an employee just to help me find the item I was looking for, and before they go, they have to lead me to check out line, so that I don’t forget and lose my way….
otherwise, they’re going to find a trail of crumbs everywhere,
near the small mining fridge and candy section.
Why would I be at a hardware store? 😂 🍬
Life is so much easier nowadays with huge signs showing what's in each aisle... Although there has been occasions when I've needed to ask for some assistance.

It depends on how they're laid out. I've been collecting records since I was two; last summer, I went to a record store I used to work in back in the `70's and got lost even though I had a rough idea of how they sort their records because it was not the way they had it when I worked there and was vastly different from the way most people that run record stores sort their records.
I don't go often, so I'm a bit like a kid in a toystore when I go and get distracted: "Oh Kewl! Look at THAT!"
I’m usually pretty good at using signage and context to find the right aisle, so probably
Yes, I can easily find what I need in a hardware store without asking. I'm very familiar with them.
I often zip to the nearest Home Depot.
I can confidently say I'm very familiar with that Home Depot.

There’s signs at the top of the aisles that list everything that’s in those isles. So I wouldn’t have any problems finding what I’m looking for.
Yeah I only go for specific items so I will find it absolutely no doubt 🙂
It can seem overwhelming but i can manage to find what i need without asking.
I have a natural instinct to find what I need,,,
Yep! I can find what I need easily.
