Why people love wasting money on objects later in the few years buy new ones and donate the old one?

I really do not understand my friends I just got a dinning table set for FREE my friend paid $1,500 for it new and now she decided to buy a new dinning table get in debt. Same with designer bags I have friends they just keep buying designer bags later they decide they no longer want them so they just give the designer bags too again I get them for free. It is no wonder people get into so much debt I always say if you can get it for free why waste money. Lol. Later my friends don't understand why I have so much money saved lol.

My philosophy is of you can't pay for the whole thing now then don't buy it, unless it's a house or car. A table or purse is not worth getting in debt haha. People try to live above their means to make themselves feel important or something. Who cares if the neighbors or friends have a more expensive table or purse? If I'm going to spend $1500 on a table, I'll just make it myself

My house will be paid off this summer. My vehicle is paid off now. No I don't have plans on getting my self in debt with a new vehicle.

A lot of people have no control over their spending. I've noticed that spending and saving are habits that people develop at a young age, and continue throughout life. It amazes me that some people who make a lot of money have no savings at all.

I think they should do it but parents should also instill in the children that habit. Most parents these days are lavish spenders themselves. In East Asian countries they have these government ads encouraging people to save and invest in long term assets though
