Are you a tool person or a Jewelry person to either receive or give...

I'm a tool girl

Recently I was remodeling my home... Painting replacing deadbolts, knobs adding a black splash and putting together new furniture.

Tools or jewelry? Out of these two choices What would you prefer your SO to gift you or what do you gift your SO?

So I had to make a few trips to home Depot... Now home Depot to me is like taking a child to a toy store... Or in an adult sense I react like this...

On one trip I was supposed to only go for ONE can of paint but instead I ended up with more than one item including a new power drill bit kit... It was very difficult pushing away from the power saw session 😔... But I failed to show restraint when I came across the drill bit kit... I literally cradled the kit all the way to the cash register lol 😆

So between the two choices what do you go gaga over?

Tools, of course. My jewelry sits in a drawer most of the time.

I have tools from my maternal grandfather that are 100 years old- continue to work much better than much of the trash now being sold. What I don't have or can't buy, I just have to invent. I also have my dad's tools and my own, so pretty much have three sets of tools- one in the garage, one upstairs and one in basement.

Grandpa invented several things, never thought to get a patent. But at least 7 were easily patentable, and at least three that I have seen were put on the market by others who had the same type of creations. The one thing he DID try to market through Lionel Trains was a track cleaner. They said they couldn't use the idea- but then about 8-9 months later, they put a dressed-up orange and silver "track cleaning car" on the market, the vile thieves.

Vintage tools. Nothing too pricey, just quality items. I haven’t even owned a wristwatch since ‘99 when I broke mine by dropping it in one of my high school’s classrooms.

I’m very hard to shop for so I wouldn’t expect a SO to come up with a gift idea that’s anywhere near perfect. The most important thing to me is that she loves me and gives from the heart. That is, if I had a SO.

I give my husband tools because that's what he likes. I would prefer he gave me jewelry over tools. I've received both over the years.
