If you were in the market for a table which pattern would you prefer?

Working around the house and decided to cut down a few hickory trees and am going to be making a table and 2 chairs to start. I more often see zig zag patterning and am curious if people would be more inclined to purchase a different pattern or if ultimately the pattern is not terribly important. Making my dining table out of hickory as well. I am going to be selling various tables, chairs, flooring, etc going forward

since I forgot to do pictures (thought I could after but you live and you learn) hopefully this description somewhat helps with what I am asking about
the first one is a square frame joined with angles and then you have progressively smaller boards until you reach the middle of the table.

the second one is basically /\/\/\ with a frame around it.

the spiral one is a square board at one end and spiral inwards until you reach the middle

I would prefer standard straight cuts. Or if the piece of wood is large enough, a single piece of wood - but that is unlikely.

By zig zag, I assume you mean herringbone. Herringbone can be nice, but it's a heck of a lot of work and is usually done with two types of wood of different colors.

The more joints you have, the more likely it is to separate over time. You have to really know what you are doing to do herringbone and make it last. You would have to use very well cured wood for that.

A large piece of burl wood can also be nice if you don't mind an irregular shaped table.

I'm not sure what you mean by the other two. Neither one seems like something I'd like in a table.

normally I wouldn't utilize a lot of smaller pieces for tables. I have been looking to add some more intricate work I also didn't want to waste lumber from the cutdown and the larger pieces are already going to specific projects was wanting to make something with the smaller parts. in response to the did I mean herringbone. yes but I was planning to do it with 45° angles as opposed to 4-6" strips. The table won't be for me I am making it to sell and unfortunately I don't have much in the way of burl wood though I do like the look of it with a nice gloss finish.

It's hard for me to picture. Reading the wood and making something that looks nice is an art form and can't be easily described with words. I think I'd have to see the final product.

Those are good descriptions. I voted for the square frame with angles. I hope you post a picture of the table you make when you're finished! All 3 sound beautiful.

Lol. That's okay honestly gives me a reason to further study a topic I don't spend a lot of time on because I already know most of information on it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions whether they are wrong or misinformed or not. If my bringing up endless statistics helps to educate that isn't all bad.
