I am starting to think that they are all fake.

It's like tech YouTuber reviewers. All they do is try to sell BS that you don't need. Your laptop from 5 years works fine. And the smartphone technology has perfected already been perfected, and there's nothing left to add to them

But the people on YouTube make fancy videos trying to sell you a product because of their sponsors. And people waste money on these crappie phones and computers; we never get any new technology. Always the same shitty smart and the same shitty computers with slight upgrades. Graphics don't get adequately optimized. And you can have the latest hard and still can't run certain games on.

We have smartphones that fold. Who needs that? We don't make any advances because these just keep buying the same garbage every year, and the companies don't need to change their strategy, and the TechReview YouTube's are all the same piece of shit.

The only good Tech YouTube technology is because you can see he actually cares about technology.

it does depend on what you actually buy...

personally, I do look at a lot of (different) sources for reviews... especially with electronics and hardware/software, and not just the ones from the place I'm buying from

Basically people who give any reviews will generally give 4/5 or 1 Star , so they are either bullshit to the positive , eg ; What arsehole here ( Thailand ) is not going to give 5 stars to his Grab delivery driver? Generally , the 4s and 5s are mostly overstated , and the 1s are drastically understated , just trying to get revenge.

I had all 4/5 stars on my Airbnb as a host , it was an attractive price point , not top end , but clean and okey in a great position near a golf course ( 36 holes and club ) , then with 15 minutes notice I get this booking from a Vlogger ( well I was to find out was a Vlogger ) , all the sheets etc were clean , quickly ran the vacuum , straightened up etc., its a couple White hair , from Europe somewhere , they arrive , I greeted them politely then moved , away there were no other bookings so they had this space all to themselves , big area.. her review read something like this..

" David is a really nice man , and the property is well located , and the price is very reasonable , but it was not clean , I would strongly suggest David add a cleaning option at end of each visit ( This to me ( my words ) would be dishonest , as a big part of what I was doing was price , price , price ) , we as travel Vloggers cannot possibly recommend David " 1 star. Now what happens when you get a 1 star rating , with little chance to reply or answer from Airbnb? Well , you get harassing e mails , saying things like " What have you done to address these issues " " If you receive another rating at 3 stars or below we will take 50% " What about all my 4 / 5 stars? Nup they dont care. Finally , I said " Fuck you Airbnb " deleted the listing , and leased all the rooms using a much cheaper option.

This is the Shit that happens consistently with reviews , 90% of them are utter utter bullshit.

But I don't look at the percentages as much as what they actually say. If they are positive, WHY are they positive. If they are negative, WHY are they negative.

I want to know how a company deals with an unsatisfied customer. For example there is a big difference between a company that apologizes, and a company that makes excuses. Any company can make mistakes. So how often does it happen, and how do they deal with it?

And of course some customers are unrealistic. If the description clearly states that is for XYZ, then don't complain that it doesn't work for ABC.

But are reviews fake? I think most are legit.

By the way, do you leave reviews? I do sometimes. I almost always leave feedback. I leave reviews for maybe 10%.

A month ago I was looking for a cheaper vacuum cleaner that was of decent quality. I came across a Dirt Devil that was on sale for eighty five dollars, so I read the reviews. They were actually right on! They said that it has exceptional power but yet small for tight places and maneuverability, which I liked. The downside was, the cord is short and the attachments are cheap and too short to use on high places. You have to pick the unite up to get the ceiling. I didn’t think that was a big deal but yeah, it sucks! I have to plug it in at four different spots to vacuum my place. My old vacuum, I could plug it in one spot and get my whole place and the attachments are junk! They don’t even fit properly. But, overall, I am happy with it, because it does have a lot of power and does a really good job. That’s all that I really cared about.

For awhile I was writing reviews for free baby products. Some things I definitely lied and said the product was good just so the company would keep sending me more things/money so definitely don't trust the reviews

No, but I read them because I do care WHAT the complaints are about. Battery life on a phone sucks? Okay, maybe not as much as they claim, but if 800 out of 1000 people are saying they have to plug in every hour, there's likely some truth to the fact that the battery is subpar at least.

Having said thst, there are some fake reviews., so you have to be careful looking at reviews. Best to look at the range of reviews. Not everything is 5 stars, nor should a product or service have many 1 and 2 star reviews and a few 5 stars, something is fishy there.

Best way is to find out for yourself… after we booked our hotel for Vegas, I saw reviews, some good, some very bad… seemed like the bad reviews were more recent so I was worried about staying there… But we had a great experience, the hotel and grounds were great as was the staff… some people leave bad reviews to try to get free stuff, or comps…

My cousin owns a business and 98% of the reviews that were left, were fake reviews. The reviews were left by her and her partner who created multiple fake accounts to leave the reviews. She also had her own mum and sister leave reviews as well.

There are some businesses out there that do have genuine reviews. You can tell this when the owner responds to the reviews.

When I read online reviews I will tend to ignore 1 star and 5 star reviews unless they really sound genuine. Friends and the lazy will give 5 stars. Competitors will gve 1 star. The ones in beween, in my experience, seem to be the most thoughtful.

yes and no. when it comes to online reviews a solid trick I learned is always look at the 1 star reviews. if you see only 5 star reviews that is suspicious. if you see a mix of reviews that is good. make sure to check the 1 stars and read some of them. same with the 5 star reviews. then take that information and mix it together for a more complete picture. failing that look for reviews that run a pros/cons list as those are genuine

They could be fake. But when I look at the reviews I skip passed the good reviews and read the bad ones. If there are multiple negative reviews about the same problem then I will probably not buy that product.

For 1 star and 5 star reviews, I tend to be very skeptical; for 2, 3, and 4 star reviews, I tend to believe in more but still remain skeptical.

Only the bad reviews are real. The good reviews are all paid for. Being satisfied with a product or service doesn't generally motivate someone to write a review. Trust me, I know.
