What do you think of delivery by drones?

Question

Think about it. How does a drone ring your doorbell? Does it take a couple hours to get there because it is hovering over some nude sunbather's house? If you order from multiple companies can there be war over your house to achieve dominance in the skies over your house? What happens if it is run on Lithium batteries, and it catches fire and crashes on the top of your roof? Are they just a fad? I'd like to see CarMax deliver a car to your house by drone.

Just wait for all these lowlifes to shoot down the drones and steal. You can't trust people enough for this privilege of having expedient technology that relies on some level of community trust.

Low trust environments will destroy this just like they destroy Walgreens in Oakland.

I believe it will be a bad idea to use for package deliveries. There are already enough news about people shooting drones down. This will be even more tempting + rewarding to do when the drone is carrying packages. Then people will have a better reason to shoot down drones.

If someone thinks that it save a buck. It will happen. I would think that if it wasn’t a calm day. A drone would have trouble getting a large package delivered.

It can’t work for anything big and wind conditions would not work good, probably break down at times. I saw one delivering pizza in a movie called “ready player one”

I will only think of deliveries if one day I'm stuck in a wheelchair - and both tyres are flat. So the drones -for now- are only good to practice my skills with the slingshot.

I'm against it. I think it will be annoying as hell with all those drones flying around. It's just another form of pollution - very big pollution.

Nah, I'm not down with that. Granted that would be less of a delay when a couple of inches of snow happen to fall and lazy ass delivery drivers refuse to go out..
