Have you bought from ebay?

I have many thousands of eBay purchases going back decades. I almost never have problems but I also know what to look for and I don't expect to get a $500 item for $1, so I don't have a ton of risk.
I have bought many knives for my collection, hundreds of CDs, audio video parts and components, car parts, and even some clothes.
Read the seller's reviews, and focus less on the number of reviews and more on the actual reviews. Someone who bought a thousand 3-cent items to get a ton of good reviews is much more suspect than someone who has sold 20 items with all good reviews.
Very rarely, but I have, yes.
Sometimes I need/want something discontinued or obscure, and you just can't find it anywhere else. That's when I'll turn to Ebay as kind of a last resort.
That, and the one time I beat a scalper at his own game. When the XBox 360 came out, and were being sold for $2000 bucks, because you couldn't find any, I came across one listing where the guy forgot to set a reserve price, and had zero bids. I snatched that bitch up for $50, brand new. 😈
Yep, I actually have 2 orders im waiting to be shipped now, one for a board game and one for a card game that's out of print.
I also ordered a working Iron Man helmet from there for my boyfriend for his birthday a few months ago.
I have purchased lots of items on eBay.
I have sold several items on eBay, too.
However, I'm more delighted about buying "tons" of eBay stocks (on Nasdaq) all the way back in the late '90s when I only paid less than $2.00 per share.

Yes, but not much recently. I always do triple protection: eBay, PayPal, and credit card not from either. This way if the transaction is a scam or otherwise not what advertised, I can challenged on eBay, then PayPal, then with the card issuer. Maybe it has changed because I have not had a bad transaction on the site in seven or eight years - an octave mandolin that the seller failed to reveal had a cracked neck. I figured the guy would want it back or offer a discount for me to get it repaired. Instead he called me a bunch of names and canceled his account. eBay let me keep it and refunded my payment for his breaking the rules. I told them $100 would suffice for this repair that I did myself, but they had no way to do that since he had left the site, so I ended up with a $1000 instrument for the cost of the splines I made, the glue, and some time.
I've bought from eBay many times. That's one of the main places where I acquire coins and coin collecting supplies for my coin collection. I've also bought other things from eBay. You need to be careful though. Some of the products on eBay are stolen or defective.
Many years ago I think I bought one thing from eBay. I don't know what it's like now, but back then scams on eBay we're rampant. I changed where I purchased from mostly from Wish to finally Temu and AliExpress. Temu and AliExpress seem to be the best sites to get decent quality stuff for low prices. I've bought phones, earphones, mics, and a bunch of other technogical devices from them and I've never had an issue.
I don’t believe i have.
My first few experiences with Ebay were based entirely off of the “auction” concept which made very little sense to me.
Other more consistent platforms emerged that i found more useful before Ebay adopted a wider range of potential user interfaces.
Not in years! Bought some golf equipment about 15 or 16 years ago and worked out ok. Got what I wanted and at a good price. It was mostly all bidding then. Now I understand much of that is gone
The seller packed it and it was from a golf store and properly packaged. Think those old clubs are now resting somewhere on one of my dads out buildings.
EXPENSIVE! My current set of Cobra custom made clubs cost about $2200.00 which doesn't include a custom Scotty Cameron putter for about $450.00. I think I paid little over $300 for that set from Ebay.
I'm playing so much competition golf that I have Cobra Golf make me new custom cut sets every two seasons. Been using same putter for over 8 years and sometimes will change drivers during a season.
i will sometimes buy things i can't find anywhere, the last time i bought some bathroom tile from the 1950s and the time before that i bought some candy i like from Australia
personally no, not me...
but my family yes... some times that are not so easy to find on Amazon, you'll find them on Ebay
Years ago. Haven't even looked there in like over a decade
Always been pretty crap... i guess if you lived in the states it was alright but here in NZ we have our own website to sell things on which is much better
Yes I've bought car parts for work a few times
It was fine no issues for me
Yes many times over the years. 95% were good experiences. A few were scams but on all but one I got my money back.
I'm not sure if the experience is the same from every country. But here in the United States it's pretty safe to buy things on eBay.
I've probably bought 100 things or more through eBay over many years.
If you're paying a lot of money for something you should carefully research it first. First you need to find out if you're getting a good price because there are many things on eBay that have much higher prices than they should. That is for people who didn't do their research.
Next you should research the seller and look at some of their reviews. Make sure they have been around for a long time.
That reduces your risk of a problem. But if you never receive the item, or the item is not as described, you can contact the seller to take it back. If they don't do it then you can contact eBay and they will refund your money if it was unfair. At least that's how it works in the USA. 😃
Most of the sales are not scams.
You're welcome. 😃
I have over 700 positive feedback, even bought things in-person.
yes but last experience soured me. scammers are everywhere , FB as well.
Sometimes from Ebay, More so from Eyesore and Amazon. Even more from Discogs.
Occasionally. Never had a problem, but I don't buy very expensive items.
For over 25 years, buying is great , selling is no longer worth it with all the fees.
No those are private sellers. I don’t trust them years ago I was ripped off from a private seller he never sent me the book
Who hasn’t? 😛. Seriously yes and I sold a car on it too 👍🙂
Yes many times! Even sold a car on it.
