What’s the most you’d realistically spend on a home upgrade or deck expansion?

Thinking about doing a deck upgrade.

I would build it myself, so I’d have to price the materials first. I don’t own the house I live in, and the yard and house is not the type where a deck would be suitable. I say build the best deck you can afford and make sure to baste it with something termites hate or use pressure treated lumber. I’m not a fan of sun so I would put a roof or some kind of shade cloth over it. If you want a deck better than the one in the picture and you’re paying somebody to build it, it’s not going to be cheap

Average upgrade is going to cost you $10-$15k. All depends on materials, size of the deck, height of the deck and any fancier things you want done to it.
