Am I an asshole if I cancel a $1k eBay order due to buyer’s remorse?

made a 1k purchase last night on ebay for screen accurate chucky doll. Something I wanted since I was a kid. Its been like 10 hrs so im not sure if can use the "purchase made by mistake" excuse. I was just gonna be honest and say I spent money I shouldn't have. Would you as a seller be frustrated with me? I really fucking want this chucky doll but I don't have a job, and I just spent 1k on something i dont need that I could have used on food and bills instead.

No, the most sensible thing would be to cancel. The seller may be a little bummed out but tough luck, it’s going to happen more than once when you sell something… eventually someone else may buy it. I do think it’s better to think well before making a purchase going forward though, but you shouldn’t let yourself lose this much money under your circumstances.

you are not automatically allowed to, you have to ask the seller if they will let you out of the order. usually they will if you are polite about it, because they don't want the trouble you can cause them later, especially with something so expensive

That’s fine. I don’t trust those people anyway. I got ripped off one time by the seller. He never sent me my book and I ended up losing all my money
