Do you still go to brick and mortar stores?

[exitseven]

I still try to go to stores to buy things. More and more I get frustrated because stores do not stock the inventory that they used to. I drive a half hour to buy something and most of the time they do not have it and tell me that they can have it shipped to my house. Why even bother? Just buy it online. I could not even buy a pair of shoes

[Chazmatazz269]

As much as possible. We can’t complain about the economy while supporting business models that cost working class people their jobs to the benefit of the unproductive wealthy.
Shop and buy locally as much as possible. If you have concerns about inventory, call and ask them if they have what you want. If they say they don’t, ask them if they can get it. Do that enough times and they will start stocking your items.
Fun fact, in my lifetime, i’ve had bars start stocking my favorite items multiple times. That might suggest that i drink too much, and that’s a sound point. However, most small businesses will do whatever it takes to earn and keep your business. That’s the important thing to keep in mind right now.

There is a liquor store in my town that I aways bought beer at. I quit drinking over 25 years ago. About 4 or 5 months after I quit drinking the place went out of business. Coincidence?

[Chazmatazz269]

😂😂😂

[888theGreat]

Yes and use cash to buy.

[sage2021]

The closed down the one's I used to shop at frequently.

I'm afraid to shop online because fraud is getting so bad anymore. Especially because of AI and hackers.

I was going to get Guardio on my phone, but the web address was Guardio. io. See, that's what hackers are doing to get your money. They redirect the site you think you're going to and make it look exactly like the site you want, but they've rerouted the website to the hackers just by changing a letter or two to the website. Scary stuff!!

Our mayor removed the bus that ran from the hospital to the two malls and passed near my house so now travelling to the mall involves taking two buses instead of one, or waiting for a bus that comes less than twice an hour. I just feel I am too busy to spend an hour waiting at the bus stop every time I want to visit the store to buy stuff.

[OlderAndWiser]

Us, i go to real stores because soon night items in person, and handling them, I’d important for my decision. Sometimes, that experience is educational.

[OlderAndWiser]

Yes, I go to real stores because seeing items in person, and handling them, is important for my decision. Sometimes, that experience is educational.

[purplepoppy]

My issue is town having to pay for town parking and the nightmare of finding a space. I'm douApart from supermarkets it's rare i actually go shopping in proper stores.

[Iron_Man]

Every time you leave your house to go to the store or to get something you have to pay for parking? We don’t have that in America unless it’s a tourist hangout area. Thank goodness I don’t have to pay to go grocery shopping or pay to go to the mall or pay when I’m eating at a restaurant

[Chazmatazz269]

California is terrible that way. San Francisco is the worst, but Sacramento isn’t a lot better. Ride share apps became cheaper than paying for parking.

[purplepoppy]

Not in supermarkets, and some places are free like out of town shopping centres. But with most town centres you've got to pay. There are free spots but you're lucky to get one unless you're quick.

[TrueConfection]

Yes, and when I go I actually shop inside the store (not pull into a numbered space and wait for someone to load my online order into my car).

The brick and mortar stores are enjoying the online sales and ordering process. They have learned to market online just as effectively as in person and theft is way down.

[exitseven]

@TrueConfection Whenever I see people sitting in those spaces waiting for somebody to come out and load it into their car I have to wonder if their hands are painted on.😊😊😊😊

[TrueConfection]

😂😂😂😂

[GothEgg]

Yes I do. I like to try things on and see what im buying.

[exitseven]

Try before you buy.

[GothEgg]

Well its also about seeing it, looking at thd material and so on. I mean there is no standard universal clothing size.

[AviatorTom]

Yes, Target is still one of my favorite stores to shop at. Of course, Home Depot is the number one brick and mortar store on my list, although lately I've been ordering things online and picking them up at the store.

I must admit that I don't go to malls much anymore. And I'm not alone, which is why several malls are closing around teh country.

[Jersey2]

Home Depot, the toy store for men.

[exitseven]

there is a Target store in my town and most of the time they do not have what I want even though I check the website and see if it is in stock.

[Jersey2]

Yes. I liked it a seeing things laid out and catching my eye. I liked factory outlet malls which are mainly just retail store but with a bit better pricing, it’s just relaxing and fun. I spend a lot on online but still like stores although my wife won’t step foot in a traditional mall.

[DryGermanGuy]

Always. Especially for clothes and shoes, I would never buy these online.

[midnightmoon05]

Yes I like to see and feel the products. Since I am only 5 ft tall. I have to try before buying. I do t like the idea of buying returning… like a little hamster in a wheel.
nowadays I do t need much of anything.

[Iron_Man]

Yes, I do I like Chicago brick and I like that look in front of a house. My brother did his own and it looked really great

[exitseven]

hahahahah I see what you just did there.

[Iron_Man]

What do you mean?

[exitseven]

go to a brick and mortar store to buy bricks and mortar?

[Iron_Man]

But I’m talking about everything in one place where they have it all

[DishLady]

Yes. With some things o just am not comfortable shopping online.

[Jeff51]

I do. I cloths shop at stores cause im sometimes hard to fit.

[MysticDevice]

As often as I can. Trying to pretend its still 2007 or something

[BCRanger10]

Yes. I'd rather do that.

[NathanDavis]

yes I do
