My boyfriend's mum is going in for surgery on Thursday. I want to do something nice for her while she's in the hospital (overnight) just to help her out. I was thinking of taking over some home cooked meals and just giving the house a general clean up while she's away. I would leave a card or something, just letting her know I'd left the food so it doesn't seem like someone random has been there.

I don't want to come off creepy if I do this so I want your opinion. Would this come off as a creepy thing for a girlfriend to do? (We have been going out for over 2 and a half years now) Or do I just send the generic "Get Well" card and flowers?

I think that's an AWESOME idea...simply because you know how moms are (especially mine lol). Always worrying if the household will burn to the ground if she isn't there to keep her hand on things.

Her getting out of surgery and seeing her household was completely under control in her absence will definitely relax her and help her recover.

I would hold it on the home-cooked meals because you're not sure what dietary restrictions she may have post-surgery...so don't plan out food to bring her until you know what she can eat. :)

Do you know what her favorite flowers are?

Maybe, if you have the time, you can show up there with a laptop or portable DVD player and have a movie-session in the hospital room (with treats she can eat post-surgery).

I think that's really sweet of you and I'm sure she'd appreciate it. I think it would depend on the relationship you have with her and how well you know her. But you've been together quite awhile so its not like she's a stranger I'd imagine. I'd go ahead and do it personally(:

If not then the flowers and get well card would suffice too, its a sweet gesture. I'm sure anyone likes to know people are thinking about them.
