noooo and I hope it NEVER does. sorry... I'm not comfortable with it.
Okay so you being comfortable is more important than other people's equality. That's not selfish at all!
@ForeverYours39 hun dont get offended, thats just my opinion.
I'm not offended. I couldn't be because I'm not trans.
I get that it's your opinion. I'm trying to show you that maybe your opinion is closed minded. If you say no to people doing things because it makes you uncomfortable, that's completely unfair to them. Did you ever stop to think what makes them uncomfortable? What if you were forced to use the men's room because everyone saw you as a man even though you personally identified as a woman? That would be very uncomfortable for you, right?
People in the 50s didn't want black people sharing their space because it made them uncomfortable, but that was unjust.
People in the 50s and 60s didn't want interracial couples to be able to get married because it made them uncomfortable, but that was unjust.
People forever didn't want gay people to get married because it made them uncomfortable, but that was unjust.
Do you see a pattern here?
@ForeverYours39 and having them feel comfortable is more important? we won't agree to this anyway, but I get what you're saying. but i wouldn't like it
Honestly, yeah. The minority feeling comfortable is more important than the majority. The majority already has the upper hand so it's our job to help them so that everyone can be happy. And to top it off, your discomfort is just due to misinformation.
No because if you look the part of the gender you feel you should be then just walk into that gender's bathroom, pick a stall and sit down!
I think its a good idea to have gender neutral bathrooms. That way everybody wins.
I say no because, building separate bathrooms cost money. Unless you have >$10,000 to do renovations, for transgender restrooms.
I'm not sure where I stand in this. It's a difficult issue.
this is stupid and a waste of time if you are a man go to the men's room
if you are a women go too the women's bathroom it doesn't make a difference it's made to expose waste
No I think it is a horrible and stupid idea I also have to agree with what @QuestionMan said,
Thanks :)
@QuestionMan Welcome.
I think until you truly finish your transformation you should be using a unisex bathroom to avoid any confusion. Then when your transformation is complete the you can use your new genders bathroom
No. Even if the government made such an order, most businesses just don't have the money to commit to that kind of facility alteration.
Just omit the gender specific norm from the name. No "Ladies room", no "Men's room", just renamed it "Toilet". That way this debate gets moot

If we are going to go this route, why have separate restrooms at all? If someone could just choose which one they want, what is the point in having a mens or womens room?
To be honest, transgenders shouldn't even exist. I know people are going to hate me for it, but it is what it is. People are either man or woman. There's no in-between.
I think having "unisex" restrooms will work; any gender can use.
i think you first need to understand what a transgender, a transgender is a full sex, ID change... so NO, if you are transgendered to a female you use the female bathroom, if you are transgendered to male you use the male bathroom, no in between..
Use the bathroom of your real gender, the one you were born with.
So transgender people would end up using the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Because sex and gender are not in fact the same thing, as your comment seems to imply. (Though do correct me if I'm misunderstanding.)
@cipher42 good lord is this society distorted. I'll make myself clear; use the bathroom that corresponds to your chromosome count. XY, use the men's room. XX, use the ladies room.
In a lot of places they are considered the third gender, therefore a third bathroom was made for them.
itd probably be best to keep it with what you were born with
unless you had the surgery and get the estrogen or testosterone shots, then maybe its ok
I don't see the need to make a 3rd type of wc.
If you are similar to a woman, do on that.
If you are similar to a man, do on that.
Yeah we call them mens bathrooms because y'all are a bunch of pricks making us have to deal with them.
I never quite understood why bathrooms are gender restricted.
this favors homosexuals having easier access to public sex and solves nothing.
