Right now in Australia, heatwaves seem to be getting even hotter and lasting even longer. Some tips for anyone stuck in the heat:

1. Keep Hydrated
This is the time where you go crazy with your water intake, the heat is high so your water intake has to be more. Avoid as much alcohol as possible, same with coffee due to both these substances are an easy cause of dehydration in heat.
2. Visit public places with aircon
If the heat is getting unbearable go down to your local library or shopping centre to cool down, keep in mind that it might be just as crowded also.

3. Food
Red tomatoes - these are made up of 94 per cent water
Dark leafy greens (lettuce for example) - these are made up of a 80 β 95 per cent water, which makes them very easy to digest. They travel through the digestive system quickly, which gives you a cooling sensation.
Berries - any berry like strawberries and blueberries are all fruits that generate cold energy in your body
Having a big bowl of fruit will always help!

4. Shut out as much sunlight
Close those blinds in your house, stay away from that scorching sun.
