I've seen a lot of questions lately from both sexes that deal with trying ty discern someone else's emotions or intentions based on how they behave on social media. For instance, "so and so liked all of my posts and pics but hasn't talked to me, do they like me?" Or "my crush liked my friends posts. Is it over?" My opinion is that in today's age, we are all relying on cues from social media too much. Step away. Talk to the people important to you in real life, to their face or at least on the phone (you know, with your voice). Use social media to find places to meet up, then actually go there.

When you are with people, put your phone away. Show them that you care by not being distracted. Expect the same in return. It's impossible to know what somebody feels or means fully through a screen, but you can find out a lot through their voice inflection and body language. If you like somebody, always be trying to see them in person, and make that the basis of your relationship. Social media is nice, but it should never be your primary form of communication. Sorry to preach, and obviously I'm here so I do use it. But there's more to life than Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook et all. Get out there and live it!
