Otherwise known as the spotted hyena, here it is:
1. Females Rule the World
They are one of the few animals where males are 100% underneath all females. Even most female cubs are ranking above the highest ranking male. Females are also larger, more aggressive.
(A female hyena attacks a male)
2. Cubs fight for dominance as soon as they are born
They are born with a full set of teeth and although there are many twins, often one survives
(two cubs, the one on the left being female, fighting)
3. They are amazing hunters
Despite popular belief, spotted hyenas hunt far more than they scavenge.
4. Their clans can be up to 80 hyenas
5. Females have a psuedo-penis
This makes it nearly impossible for a male to rape a female, so the female gains much more control over breeding. It is also thought to help female hyena cubs not get killed by more aggressive females.
6. The queen is crazy strong
and probably a bit insane. They will kill the cubs of lower ranking females, and will readily kill low ranking hyenas that displease them. Because the queen's daughter usually becomes the queen, the queens get more and more agressive and large down the line

I'd noticed your username, and wondered why you'd chosen it (I knew what it meant), so now I know...
I've seen them in the wild on a number of occasions, including one time when one (alone) came bounding along, on the other side of a large pond where I'd stopped. Not an experience I'd want to repeat, personally...
Interesting take I never knew much about them. Most shows pass them off as dirty scavengers.
Very interesting and good info
