Embrace Your Past!

When it comes to emotions, most people prefer to be happy all the time, they even act happy and force themselves to do things that give them a temporary feeling of joy just to feel good and worthy. Most people avoid thinking about their supposedly sad memories, or anything they think might bring them down whether emotionally or mentally. Sometimes we're afraid to face our past, afraid to remember the mistakes that we did and the relationships that failed despite our will. We're afraid because we want to move on, be who we currently are and be happy, and we don't want our pasts to get the best of us, we don't want to remember how we were abandoned or rejected, how we were abused and blackmailed, or how we failed and lost what we valued.

But like it or not, everything that we've gone through is part of who we are, our past defines us in a way that can't be neglected. We wouldn't have become what we are now without our pasts, this is why we shouldn't try to abandon it, because no matter what we do it's there and if we didn't acknowledge it with our consciousness, it's already haunting us subconsciously as we sleep, and it's gonna affect our being anyway.

I believe that in order for a person to be genuinely content, they gotta achieve peace within themselves, and in order to achieve that peace you must be honest with yourself and be fair to your being which consists of your past, present and your potential. I believe you gotta encourage yourself to think fairly about what happened and how you handled it, the mistakes you made and what you lost. It's likely that you will feel sad when you think about what you lost, it's only natural, you gotta embrace that feeling because it's part of your true character, you gotta give a fair thought to your potential after what you learned from your pain, so that you get the closure you need to be at peace with everything that you are.
