What is England Really Like? Part I

With it being late here right now {{ 03:44am }} I'm heading to bed the moment I post this because I am so damn tired and just wanted to share this. Hope you like it and there will be more. I'm just too tired to even think right now. Sorry if there are mistakes anywhere, or typos. I can't be bothered to proofread and correct.

So anyway...

1. We don't all sound like the Queen and we don't personally know her to invite her round for tea!

Most of us are just common. Especially up here in the northern section of England. Us northerners don't even like southerners :P so how dare you insult us by saying we sound like them! haha. Seriously, though... like America has its states, England has its counties which usually end in 'Shire'. Liverpool accent is known as scouse, Brummy for those in Birmingham, Stokie for those in Stoke-On-Trent, and so on.

I'll let you in on a little secret... there are some of us who don't even like the Queen.

2. We all don't live in fancy houses or castles.

You will get really beautiful areas, then the poorer areas like everywhere else in the world. I don't see many homeless people... but that is just the area where I am. I don't know what other places are like. These ones I chose in the picture are actually decent. I've seen worse and it's a shame during this day-in-age.

3. It doesn't always rain.

*Rains in the middle of summer and our British mother yells* GET THE WASHING IN QUICK! IT'S PISSIN' IT DOWN! xD

Seriously, it doesn't ALWAYS rain. Our weather may be unpredictable, but when we have a heat wave it is horrible. Dry, sometimes sticky and humid. I hate it. I love the cold and rain since we can wear cute PJ's and warm cosy jumpers. Lovely. Oh and don't forget a nice cuppa tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

I swear most of us are vampires ha-ha. When it's sunny we're never out really as we complain it's too hot, but when it's cold we complain it's too cold, yet we still go out more when there's no sun. O_O so you tell me :P this is why we're pasty white LOL xD

I am American and lived in Leicestershire for a year and have been to the UK more times than I can count. I also attended 2 British universities and I am fluent in sarcasm and 'taking the piss'.

I think you're spot on with your take, however regarding the weather, with the exception of July and August it's not great. It doesn't rain all the time but nearly 2/3 of the year is cloudy and that varies from region to region. When it is hot the Tube is insufferable and for some reason filled with people that have no concept of deodorant or a toothbrush. Commuting in London can best be described as an exercise in survival.

One final note as an outsider is the British will gamble on anything - literally. Names of Royal babies, the next pope, and of course the footie match.

Still, it's a fabulous country and though Tube sucks as an experience, it is a brilliant transport network. I absolutely love the British sense of humour and the people I've been around are quite friendly. Brilliant place on earth.
