Avada Kedavra is the right idea :p
Agree to disagree, we all have these assholes in our lives somewhere. Let's get one thing out of the way. You. Will. Never. Get. Through. The facts, the truth, the evidence, ALL of it is obsolete in the mind of a brick head. You might even get something like a 'Priori Incantatem' if you're lucky. There are three things I do to make my life run a little more smoothly when dealing with narrow-minded folks.
1. NOT get defensive right away.
Getting defensive is a great way to invite your opponent block you out and also become defensive. Remember, the only one that'll really suffer is you.
2. Try to sympathize with them.
I think most people can agree that Donald Trump is one of the most controversial leaders ever. Plenty of people love him, plenty of people hate him give or take. I think what divides people is the extremities people take to defend their support and beliefs, instead of digging up facts that could support their points of what makes him a great president and what makes him a shitty president. Is it based on his speech patterns? His course of actions? A valid source is needed for an argument to be effective or to be really effective, multiple points. I will not say if I support him or not because this is not the point of this take. If people could find some common ground then perhaps we may be able to express our opinions more civilly.
3. Remain civil and Don't take it personally.
I strongly believe in the phrase "treat others the way you want to be treated" but in this specific situation, it is usually best to remember the first point of this take which is to not get defensive. People will look for anything to pick on when they are cornered. The stubborn ass always wins. It doesn't matter how well you present your views, it will be seen as trash, so don't take it personally.
Most of the time, people with narrow views are insecure and afraid of anything that does not conform with their ideals. To them, a different view is an attack to their character even if you proposed your opinions in an inoffensive way. It is not you, it is them. So with that said, keep an open mind yourself and best of luck!
