Why I Love Women

As I've grown older I've had a greater and greater appreciation for women.

No I don't love them because they can be bodybuilders just like men. Or be firefighters, police or soldiers just like men. Or have boring 9 to 5 careers just like men. Or spit chewing tobacco just like men.

I love them because they're beautiful to look at, every one of them a work of art.

I love them because they understand the other half of what it means to love: the half I will never understand and I admire in them so much.

I love them because...nahhh I better leave that one out.

I love them because they remind men that family is what makes life worth living in spite of all the distractions that try to make us think otherwise.

I love them because their bodies bear the children that ensure the human legacy will endure: they are the embodied gateway to forever.

I love them because they're smarter than me at times I need them to be.

I love them because they're braver than me at times I need them to be.

And maybe most of all I love them because I know that not only would I not be here without them, but my life would not be worth living without them.

This is one of the most beautiful takes I have read on GAG. Brought tears to my eyes, seriously. This is exactly how I feel about women.

@Brainsbeforebeauty I agree, there are still some women like that. I know a couple. But they are few and far between. In general, women are not what they used to be, they are not what nature intended them to be, and they are not what men and children need them to be.

I'm going to have to give this one to you Mr. Anonymous. I think both you and Brainsbeforebeauty are right on this.

The problem is the culture that dictates that women who fulfill their natural rolls are somehow inferior to men and therefore must reject that roll in order to be considered equals. It's a pervasive "modern" culture that is poisoning the human race. It's a cultural pandemic.

@Brainsbeforebeauty Please know that I do indeed appreciate and love women. But certainly you know what I'm referring to when I say that women have changed, they have asked men to accept something different in place of the women we used to know and love, and that what most families, men and children accept today as women are a compromise.

@Brainsbeforebeauty I think this is true. I recall reading the reaction of one women when talking with a group of her peers. They went around the circle, announcing their names and professions. When it was her turn, she said “mother and homemaker.” There was a pregnant pause and then one woman said "Oh. . . that's great."

She definitely felt lesser-than for choosing to support her family over advancing her career and lamented that this has become a stock attitude in feminist circles.

William Ross Wallace, in his famous poem, said, “For the hand that rocks the cradle/ Is the hand that rules the world.” I wonder, who is rocking the cradle?

According to feminism women are now liberated because they are free to choose. But they're only free to choose if they make the choice the feminists want them to make. Feminism is just another form of totalitarianism aimed at intimidating women into submission to their political agenda.

@JSmith925 Well said. Mothers who prioritize caring for their children above their career aspirations are truly the most important people of all. It's ironic that they were not fully appreciated in the past by men and given the respect they deserved then, but today it is feminists who look down upon them and men who appreciate and value them above all other women.
