Do zombie's exist?

Hear me out, because I've been thinking about this topic in a logical way lmao. Please be open minded haha. I'm not saying I believe in zombie's, I just like to fantasize about the 'what if'.

First: What is a zombie?

So basically when you're dead and you're body is taken over by something that still makes you're body move.

The next question is: Do zombie's exist?

In the site down below you can see different cases where humans can act like zombie's. I won't go into them deeply, but the diseases are, sleeping sickness, rabies, dysarthria, leprosy. But let's be honest, this will not make you a 'real' zombie.

So are there real zombie's out there??

In the link down below you can read about 'real life zombie's'. It talks about parasites taking over the body of insects. The parasites can move and control the body, while the insect is dying. It grows inside of their body. Then they search for the most comfy place, so the parasite can reproduce.

I was thinking, there are no parasites that can take control of human bodies, yet. But the world is hugeeee and we haven't discovered everything yet. What if there is a parasite out there that can control us, humans, but we haven't found it yet? What if that parasite can kill us and control our body.

Beside that, animals with rabies tend to be more aggresive and often try to bite people when they have rabies. What if there is a parasite that makes you aggressive and bite? There is still so much to discover. In the article above, you can also read about scientists discovering old viruses and trying to bring them back to live. There must be something out there that is like a 'zombie'.

Did you know that when you dream about someone, and see their face, you have seen that person in real life? Humans can't create faces without ever having seen them. We humans have created zombie's. Everything scientifical that humans have created, are based off something. Monsters are often based off dinosaurs, aliens often look like humans or other animals/insects/parasites/viruses. We humans can be creative, but everything is in contact and based off something. So what are zombie's based off?

Sorry I just wanted to share my thoughts haha. I don't believe in zombie's like the movies, but technically there is a possibility for them to exist, maybe just not in the way we expect them to be ;)

You've actually asked some incredibly detailed and important questions that academics in philosophy are dealing with, even if you don't realize that you asked them.

So imagine you have a boat, and over time, you remove pieces and replace those pieces with new materials until the ship exists as a structure without any original parts. Conceptually, we'd still think it was the same ship, but logically we know that it doesn't really have any material connection to "its" past state. This is a similar thought to your hypothetical about parasites or bacteria hijacking our free will. If we become infected and something starts controlling us, to what extent are we actually the same person? And if we're a different person or creature, why couldn't that creature be a zombie?

Zombies are even defined philosophically. Imagine a person who looks, acts, speaks, and otherwise is EXACTLY what you'd expect from a fellow human being, but it turns out they have no personal experience or subjective awareness. The feeling of "what I am" doesn't exist for this person. Are they even a person? We call these things "p zombies" or philosophical zombies.

As to your point about what humans have created and how we base things off of other things, this is also important. We synthesize previous experiences into new ones, and metaphysically, you could argue that "ideas" or "thoughts" are still "things", or that representations of material objects or entities still have some kind of real existence. This guy believed that since ideas and things can logically be referred to in conversation, that these things still have a form of being or existence, albeit only to a degree. For fun, you could totally make a logical case for either the hypothetical existence of zombies, or even the practical existence of zombies if the scientific facts (like the existence of parasites) actually turn out to be true.

The modern interpretation of zombies like in movies may not be real as of yet.
However there are some old folklore in various cultures that talk about corpses being reanimated by black magic and controlled by the caster. You never know, there could be something there.

You see, this drug named Xylazine is turning people into zombies. It is rotting their flesh and they behaving like zombies, walking weirdly and acting funny. Although thankfully they are not out of their mind yet. But we don't know when this drug will shut down their thinking process and make them insane.

See there are insects that are controlled by Parasites and Fungus after they die to act like Zombies!..

If one of those species evolve to fully take control of human body, and poison the body to kill a human, then its a zombie!..

Actually Partial Human Zombies already exist, but you are not aware of them, there are already many fungus and Parasite that can modify human behaviour..

Toxoplasma gondii- a common Parasite of Cats can infect Mouse and make them fearless.. The same parasite can affect humans and make them act reckless and love cats, even though Cats are total assholes.

If you heard the phrase, "CRAZY CAT LADY" Those ladies are zombies, because they are infected with "Toxoplasma gondii".

So if you see someone behaving reckless around you, and they have cat nearby, get them checked for Toxoplasma gondii..

It depends on how you define a zombie, and different people will define it different ways, but yes, there are a number of instances in real life where you could argue there eas zombification.
